3 AFKs on the enemy team. Still lost and 0 damage because there is literally nothing this boat can do beside spectate and maybe throw the occasional and useless torp spread that's too slow to hit anything.

 

Went to one side, spotted 1 dd that crashed (so make that 4 afks to lose against), sat in cap and still lost and did absolutely nothing else. [edited]people and this ship are so terrible you don't even need a whole quarter of a team around to win this piece of trash boat is that much dead weight. To anyone going up the IJN line, free xp past this useless tub

While she isn't as great as the Minekaze, she certainly isn't the worst ship in the game. You have to be patient with your torps, and get as close as possible.

Nah, even at 6.1km and with torp acceleration, this thing can't torp anything.

The best way to grind the Mutsucki is to cap all the things. Use the speed flag and hit the boost to take a flag on domination as quick as you can. Launch some torps at any available enemies and head to the next capture point. Rinse and repeat and you will be done with the Mutsucki before you know it. If you could select only domination mode you could get through it even quicker.

Except Minekaze has better launchers. I can send 2, wait 10 seconds, launch another 2, wait, and then launch the last pair and barely have 20 second of down time.

 

With the [edited]mut. It's launch one trio and hope the enemy doesn't touch any of their WASD keys, aim at a second sap, and do the same. And then be stuck twiddling your thumbs for over a minute.

 

Hell I just had a decent game, deleting 2 cruiser instantly. Except where an Isokaze on the other team does twice as well and is 2 tiers lower. Last I checked, ships are supposed to be better as you move up, not objectively worse.

Mutsuki isn't about dealing damage, it's about learning to play something else than lone-wolf-ninja-torp-shooter.

 

Scout, cap, deny, harass, there's a lot you can do with Mutsuki. Hang with your team, do what the game wants you to do with the ship, and you'll clear it in no time.

would love somebody shooting torps that way at my cruiser... it means they are easy to avoid and you are easy to be caught hanging too long very close to the cruiser, both in one move, turning into the torps

What? Minekaze is better than Mutsuki? No way. I sold my Minekaze. Kept Mutsuki.

I somehow did better in my Mutsuki than my Minekaze and my Hatsuharu.  Like any torpedo based destroyer it has those games where the enemy seems to know when you launch and turns completely around and skunking your carefully planned salvo, but it also has those great 7+ torpedo games as well.  I found the triple tube launchers made for denser spreads at long range and the detection range was very forgiving when it came to trying to sneak around capping and avoiding gunship DDs.

 

Plus as long as the Ognevoi exists nothing else can claim the 'worst dd' crown.

The fact that it upgrades next to nothing compared to the Gnevny except for HP and turret rotation while at the same time being larger, more easily spotted, and only having 2 turrets which seem to be insanely prone to being knocked out and halving your firepower.  Maybe I'm in the minority but I did a hell of a lot better and had a hell of a lot more fun with my Gnevy.

Mutsuki has definitly a place in this game. Most Battleships at that Tier don't seem to know about their rudder so you can hit them. Some dodge, some won't. And another interesting fact about this ship: Her AA is better than Kagero's. So if everything fails just escort a Battleship and shoot Torps at other BBs while shooting down one or two planes

This ship is so [edited]fun! Cap points and immediately be chased out to lose the cap!!! Launch torps that are lucky to hit anything and popguns that do nothing but say "I'm here shoot me!!!!!" Sail around and watch as your cruisers fail to kill anything that is spotted because scouting is such a useful and vital part of the team. Man do I [edited]love this ship. It's such a [edited]keeper!

Mut is a good boat.  It has the most damaging torpedoes and it has a very good detection range.  You won't be out spotted by any default ship. Captain perks make it even better.  Best way is to use one torp salvo at a time unless you make a run.  Then you can use both. Remember it has a crazy reload timer.

No it's not. If it was any good, I'd actually be able to make a difference in games. Not be stuck sitting on my thumb with how much this ship blows, watch teammates fail utterly at even the most basic things like shooting a spotted DD.

I agree.. 2 torps every 10 seconds is real easy to avoid. Only way that would work is against people at Tier 5 who are stilll fairly new and don't know how to avoid torps..

Not saying I don't take the Kamakaze out and club seals once in a while.. Just saying that is not like a higher tier game. 

 

Mutsuki is right after an absolutely great boat in the Minikaze, so it's easy to hate on it. Kinda like the Colorado, and Nagato. Both are after EXCELLENT ships. Fuso/New Mex.. New Mex is best BB in the US line for it's tier. 

 

Hatsu is where IJN guns start to work well.. Hatsu I got more kills with guns than torps..

"Oh you repaired my flooding? Let me put you on fire now and get another 10-15k damage."

so work through the Mitsuki, and know there is better coming soon.

I already have the Kiev and Blys. Mostly just suffering with the Mut because it's actually somewhat viable to stealth fire in the later IJN destroyers and roll as a hybrid.

Depends for all of its damage output on 2 turrets housing the most breakable guns in the game.

 

Mutsuki might be good, might be bad, definitely boring.
