Patch 0.5.4.1 is almost here and wow are there some major changes which will impact the meta of the game.  Within the video I provide an overview of the changes and I also provide my opinions and thoughts on the changes.  Let me know if you all agree and if you all are looking forward to it!

It's a joke, another needless nerf to CV's, people are going to wonder what happened to the carrier population again after this patch goes.

Nerfed USN ships again.

 

No fixes for the ones 10 miles behind everyone else.

 

Still not buying anythinh until we get an inch on the 10 miles of difference.

People are overreacting to the DB nerf. The 1000 pounders will still have a 180% chance to start a fire after the patch and the 500's a 148%.

You know I don't want over powered Carriers, granted I know they changed the face of naval combat forever.  They only sunk more battleships then anything else in history even other battleships.  I just want them to be decently fun to play.  When your only capable of doing a strike once every three minutes or so and have maybe a 10% chance of hitting your target, and AA is so good now that you can loose every plane you have to a ship with out a defensive fire in less then 10 seconds then you'd be a little upset also.  If your battleship fired it's guns once ever three minutes and had that accuracy you'd be pretty upset also.

Just because you've played a couple more games then I have in a class doesn't mean you understand it better.  It's clear your a cruiser/battleship player mostly and you'd prefer just gunfights and want carriers out of the game.  Sadly that is slowly happening due to players not wanting to play them anymore considering how worthless they are now.  It isn't about wanting easy mode it's about wanting a fun class to play that fit's your play style.  I would be totally ok with doing less damage if it actually meant something to scout for your team and shoot down enemy aircraft.  It is worthless points wise to do that right now, damage is the only thing that means anything in this game so CV's got to have the opportunity to be able to do that.

Oh boo hoo you don't instant-100% start multiple fires with your DBs.

 

It's like that's what IJN DBs have to deal with or something, but that'd require you to think things out some more.

Kinda weird, but I have had my bet Hiryu games since the last patch...I think I am just being a bit more selective on my targets, the lone under tiered BB, the CA that just fought off another CV strike... maybe I am just better...ummm yeah!

I can agree to that, would fix a lot of issues, but I still say there are plenty of ways to make CV's viable as in being able to do damage and support their team.  Honestly i'd be completely in favor of changing the american strike loadout to 1-1-2, will lower the damage output and give the carrier a chance to do battle with the other CV.  Right now the 0-1-3 loadout's are pointless, if your up against a IJN CV you will just lose all of your crapwith out doing much damage.  Least with my idea you can support yourself and if your smart with strafing runs be able to wipe out huge amounts of planes easily with out being too over powering damage wise.

I point out stock BBs to CVs at the start of most games I play to let them know easy targets and I can't remember the last time the CVs took advantage of it. I say this because as much as I feel for any class getting a nerf I rarely see CVs living up to their potential in game.

 

I know it's the hardest class to play well but nerf's like these are only giving the targets a slim reprieve from the absolute worst and are not game breakers for CVs in the slightest.

 

Cv players would be better off campaigning for appropriate rewards than wasting energy on very minor aspects like this.

The USSR radar doesn't really do much for better DD players, but the USN radar is the real DD killer based on the como of the ship itself

not enough nerf on the usn db

usn radar works for too long and is vastly better than russian, should be lowered by like 5 sec

No fix to Atlanta armor on guns, no velocity change to her rainbow arc, and no range increase. no in game verbal chat to help team coordination?

Glad I just got the DM last night. I think this patch will make it viable again. It will be one heck of a CV/BB escort with it's AA and now radar.
