273 [AAYC] Siegewolf Beta Testers 791 posts 18,725 battles Report post #1 Posted March 28, 2016 I know this has been beating on until not only is the horse pulp but the actual DNA has been destroyed. Everyone has seen players go AFK for one reason or another. For me, in the past, they have been few and far between. However, this past weekend they were truly epidemic and in the worst possible ways for our team. Meaning several games with AFK carriers, several with 2-3 AFKs in total. These weren't folks with the long load problems (I can understand that situation as I face it time to time). They never moved, at all. Basically free experience pinatas for the taking. We all know that "Bot" and "plays poorly" are bad descriptors for this behavior. So the suggestion/question/comment is pretty simple, please WGNA suggested to Czars in HQ that there needs to be the option to flag these folks (so you can track the behavior by player) and hopefully there will be some development of punishments in the future. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying one AFK and wham your hit. Everyone understands there are issues that come up. I am talking about trying to track and do something about the habitual AFKers. Yes I have seen certain players more than once AFK.

40 Colber Beta Testers 259 posts 13,613 battles Report post #6 Posted March 28, 2016 with some of the last patches players are either very slow loading at times and others get dropped while in a match. I personally have loaded into matches with 50 seconds til match start and other 7 minutes after the match started. In a match the other night I was dropped from the server three times in the match thankfully i loaded back in before being killed each time. Yes there some who dont like the matchup and drop on their own but i would say a high percentage arent of their own control --- and before i here the its the computer or ISP all are effected by the above at some point, just some more than others. 34 Parker_xgps Members 305 posts 9,717 battles Report post #7 Posted March 28, 2016 Not saying it isn't needed. I have a hard time not feeling confirmation bias. unfortunately the issue isn't cause by one type of player.

I have played both WoT and WoWS for quite some time. I don't believe that the majority are connection issues. Otherwise, like similar instances in WoT the ISP or choke points would be big forum topics. They aren't. I do believe there are legitimate reasons someone might drop. However, I do believe quite a few of the AFKers don't have good reasons. Just IMHO. The reason why this needs to be separated from the Bots is they are really two different problems. 135 [ROCKR] Bonfire79 Members 368 posts Report post #11 Posted March 28, 2016 (edited) Here's the thing, though...the sheer number of people having issues with it running smoothly. I saw a guy with a respectable rig having issues this morning. A person submits a ticket, waits 20 hours for dxdiag submittal, reset preferences page. "All your drivers up to date"? And then they throw darts for another week or so until you take it to the shop. The responsible thing is to not play, but how do you test it? I went through it for 3 weeks...tried to play co-op, but co-op doesn't put the same strain on your GPU. For clarity, I'm not defending AFK players, or people having issues with their systems. Rather, shining a light on what I think the real problem is. If it has to be patched every 6 weeks, and the support has the same answer every time...Then the answer is that support needs to have the tools to get people up and running right away. Teamviewer, or similar software is available for situations like this. Anything other than a BIOS screen they should be able to deal with each and every player in a matter of minutes, not weeks. A different way to report players is like a band-aid on a broken leg. I'm not against a different category, either. I think it's a good idea. But, it means another patch. I think addressing how support deals with customers having issues w/o mods and are up to spec needs to be priority, if there are afk 'ers after the fact, then we deal with the issue after the leg has healed. Honestly, sub-contracting it to a passionate group of guys would do wonders for the ticket turn around times, and ultimately, the number of people who want to play and are "loaded in", but can't. 181 [4TAC] Coyote720 Members 440 posts 18,431 battles Report post #12 Posted March 28, 2016 im not gonna report someone because the game files are massive and take forever to load. This is why having an afk option is a good one. If someone gets reported occasionally for afk, WG can give the player the benefit of the doubt and take no action. But if someone is afk 30 percent or more of their games, I don't care why they are afk that much. They shouldn't be playing.

273 [AAYC] Siegewolf Beta Testers 791 posts 18,725 battles Report post #14 Posted March 29, 2016 Indeed, the crux of the problem is that this issue needs to be tracked individually. People can have issues and as Coyote mentioned, no harm done (it happens). What this would help with are the folks who are habitual AFKers. Truly if someone is having a constant issue playing this game due to their set up or issues with the (free) software they should consider trying back later. Notice I didn't say quit. Sometimes, with updates games and rigs meet that certain nirvana and you can play again. I have an old rig myself, but the worst I suffer is sometimes I have a long load in on the first game of the day (sometimes 1-2 mins into the game). After that I'm golden. 460 [TAZ] Nutaz Members 1,123 posts Report post #15 Posted March 29, 2016 I have the recurring problem on the "land of fire" map since 28 February, I am unable to play that map. WG customer support is aware of the situation and they say that the developers are working on a resolution. I am not the only one that this has occurred to. I am sure that I get reported every time that this occurs, further it is an issue because it is automatically recorded as a defeat. Every day for a month so far with no resolution in sight other WG customer support personnel saying to check the developers logs to see it a fix has been found. 1,678 VGLance Banned 2,229 posts 11,923 battles Report post #17 Posted March 29, 2016 Had a match today with a player who has over 200 games played and only one kill with an avg dmg of 300. Yes you heard me 300. His KD ratio was: 0.01% WG could easily run a query for stats over a period of time and min games played that would delete these accounts. I don't know who should get a beating more, the player or WG. I'm leaning on both, and the only beating I can give is keeping my wallet closed. Which is why I still have not put a dime into this game and won't until they clean up the player base.
