Always drawn into higher tier?

Am I the only one having this issue? For three days, just about every match I enter (whether in a group of like tiered friends or solo) I end up in matches against ships 3-4 tiers HIGHER than mine. This is really getting frustrating.

 

Also every fight follows the same pattern. Regardless of what ship I play (I have ships of every type levels 3-7 mostly American) first hit on me by anyone destroys a weapon. I hit repair. Second hit destroys steering, torpedoes and another weapon. Every game. Every freakin' volley I get hit with destroys weapons, or steering. All game long. REALLY getting tired of this. I thought they cut the crit rate in half with the last patch? Apparently not.

 

Anyone else having these issues? I didn't start having this problem until the last patch.

That's not possible unless you are doing co op or fail divisioning. Regular matchmaking is generally +2 tiers or less

haven't had that problem much... seems like most of the battles Ive been in are within 2 tiers, (ex; 3, 4, 5) and some of them have been within a tier of each other (ex; 4, 5).

You're seeing ships 3 tiers higher than you? Do you have screenshots to prove that, because matchmaking is +2/-2 for every ship unless they're divisioned with ships of a higher tier.

 

EDIT: Unless Co-Op has different matchmaking rules, I don't play Co-Op so I wouldn't know there.

No I'm not kidding. I had a lvl 5 Konigsberg drawn into a match against lvl 9's just today. It has happened at least 2 dozen times in the past three days. My buddy was just complaining that his lvl 4 Wyoming was in a match against lvl 9 ships as well. I've also played my lvl 7 Mahan and saw a lvl 3 St. Louis (not in a group) in the match.

 

Something is seriously screwed up with matchmaking this weekend (and I don't play Co-Op).

 

Also every ship I have seems to be made of paper this weekend. Every volley I take destroys weapons or systems.

No I'm not kidding. I had a lvl 5 Konigsberg drawn into a match against lvl 9's just today. 

 

Then stop divisioning with a tier 7. That's the ONLY way a tier 5 gets pulled into a tier 9 battle. From the wiki:

 

Matchmaker treats all the ships in the platoon as having the highest present tier; so if, for example, a tier 3 and a tier 7 ships division together, matchmaker views both of them as tier seven ships and will assign them to battle accordingly. For that reason, it is never a good reason to platoon with ships that vastly differ in tiers (so-called "fail divisions") -- you will weaken your team, and draw the wrath of your teammates.

You are going to have to post proof of this, because as others have said it is not supposed to happen unless:

 

• You are in a division with much higher (or lower) tier ships
• You are playing co-op

I'll see if I can grab a screenshot when it happens next. I've now talked to several of my friends who have ALL had this experience this weekend. NOT in a group, when drawn into battles vs ships of 3-4 tiers higher (and in the one case I mentioned a lvl 4 drawn into a battle with a tier 9).

I agree this is happening more lately...I was playing a "Bo Gator" tier III ship (not co-op and not "connected" to another player)

The first match I was in with tier 6 ships and later with tier 7!!

 

I've also played my tier 7 cruisers and been in with tier  X BBs!! It happens And when you place a tier 7 anything in a group of even 8's and 9's, it's very unfair..The tier spread should narrow at the top!!

Send screenshots with a support ticket. If things are happening as you say, that's a bug, and won't be fixed unless people report it.

When the game was new wasn't it different? I remember back in (August, September?) I was playing my Kongo and I got into a match against a North Carolina. I don't recall whether I was in a platoon or not but I have a feeling that I wasn't. I haven't yet had an issue with MM doing that recently though.

This is correct for Battleships. Battleships used to have +-3 matchmaking. In Kawachi/South Carolina, you could encounter Fuso and NM. It was... Difficult.

I don't know about 3 tiers higher but all night my Lana has been thrown into matches vs Clevelands and Kongos. You know what happens when you have to come within 11.3 kms of a Kongo to shoot at it and your amor is made up of  construction paper?

I do not have this issue myself. The only time my Wyoming went into a tier 8 battle was i wrongly clicked it to division up with my friend in Pepsicola...and we won with my Wyoming scored 2 kills...

This is kind of amusing, it's usually the high level players complaining about the Tier 5 in the game.  I had no idea the flip side also complains.
