Furthter Musings about Bot CV players

there exists a general conceptual problem where something is only apparent once its been "named"

"its only obvious once its been said"

now that Bot CV players have been properly named and described . . . we can let our memory roam and look at previous events.

Think back how many months ago was the the first time you saw a CV that didn't launch planes until the enemy was finally spotted. ((( one symptom of this named bot is that they {only} attack the first thing seen )))

Another issue with the Bot CVs is the appearance of being "nailed to the map" --- they are unable or unwilling to move when being attacked.

First encountered this during the middle days of Closed Beta. -- OUCH - not recognized -- just thought it was brain dead people who can't comprehend that their carriers can move.

compound symptom - won't move - but does launch planes --- therefore not simply AFK

sometimes will whine about no support - ???? live player tuning his bot ???? -- yes saw one nailed to the map in closed beta who was whining about no support after chat comments that he needs to move -- and after he was being blasted by a DD -- it was a memorable event especially since I was warning him to move and wondering why he just sat there when he could clearly see and feel the approaching doom

There have been numerous threads complaining about CVs who refuse to help their team and therefore deserve to die -- always thought this was simply people whining for the sake of whining or trying to justify their desire to TK - often just dismissed as scared BB drivers demanding air cover when the fighters had more important duties. But another of the bot symptoms is fighter planes that don't actually engage anything - I have seen this and even danced my bombers around one instance of this Saturday.   Wonder how many of these threads were actually about bot CVs

Unfortunately I encountered an interesting tier 7 CV yesterday (not a Ranger) that fit many of these bot parameters --- splattered him anyways. The problem is that this ship didn't actually seem to be human controlled, but it wasn't one of these true brain dead bots. Second Generation on the horizon

this is not a joke and not sarcasm

within the last week saw at least one Langley nailed to the map.

Of course, I now expect to be reported as a bot in many CV games because on certain maps I prefer to send fighters to the center --- to uncover the "idiot charge"  -- Hint that I'm not a bot -- these fighters will move

We can usually tell a bot from a player because a player will chime in and deny our accusations, in which case I'll just report for playing poorly while I snort cocaine.

Can bots chat?

EDIT:

Is boting like this mostly a free to play thing? Or is this game "simple"

They can be programmed to.

To your first question, that would require complex algorithims that the coder has little reason to write.

To the second, this is what I got out of your second question.

“Has Anyone Really Been Far Even as Decided to Use Even Go Want to do Look More Like?”

In a "gaming wide"

To the second, this is what I got out of your second question. No comprende

In a "gaming wide" sense.

EDIT: this is my first and only f2p game, I'm also a bit new to master race so I may be out of the loop.

I'm sorry man but I still don't understand the question.

Have to go with Heir Doktur on this. I can't make anything out of your question....

If you're asking if botting is gaming wide, then yes..it is prevalent in most games.

Is it a problem here? Could be, certainly are enough threads about it, but in the end, it's simply another "shortcut" for lazy players that want to reach top tier.

Yes, thank you.

Guess it's more of a commentary on how prevalent lazy is.

Also, I like to use words to shorten sentences. Makes it fun sometimes.

From my experience bots have colons on either end of their name. ex. :Mr.Bot:

that's only for the bots that are actually employed by WG

It took me a lot longer than it should have to realize you're talking about client-side botting in PvP, rather than the AI opponents in co-op.

Now I wonder if anyone's ever made that mistake. They came on the forum to complain about fighting the same bots in Co-op and how outrageous it is that Wargaming hasn't banned any of them.

I've seen players admit they initially did not know the Co-op enemies were bots and tried to chat with them!

Okay that's funny.

I'm not saying CV bots don't exist, but I do find it odd that we're just now "figuring it out" if they're as prevalent as the forums have made it seem over the past few days.  Every week we get a few new aimbot threads where people swear they've found them online, and link to old videos on YouTube.  Are there any videos of normal players testing a CV bot?  Is there any external proof of the existence and availability of a bot for CVs or other ships?

I've seen the other threads, and the video(s) plus my own anecdotes certainly seem to confirm botting.  I just think it's unlikely that so many players have discovered and begun using bots to grind CVs before the WoWS forums and Reddit heard about their existence.  I suppose there could be a company somewhere that's written a private script and is simply using it to power-level a bunch of accounts for later sale.

They've always kind of existed, but it was mostly that between the growing pains and that most of them seemed to thrive on co-op, it's just that now the skill ceiling has increased and they're invading random battles for more XP.
