Reporting players for botting

As all of you are no doubt aware, CV botters have become a problem, and I just ran into a pair on my team. I'm not going to post the names as per the forum rules, but I just wanted to provide visual evidence in the form of what they sent their planes to do. IE go to the middle and sit there until they ran out of fuel.

 

Is the best way to report them submitting a ticket?

I've been saying "nailed to the map" --- and every CV that was nailed to the map -- too precisely fit the rest of this pattern ---- not ranger exclusive

You know, come to think of it.....I have  been seeing a lot of Rangers that I thought were just pants-on-head stupid. But......in retrospect (with all these recent threads supporting), I'm at least 3% sure they were bots, too.

I start to think the reason for they being Rangers. As I noiced them were registered in nearly same time, they might be backed by one group of people or even one person. And they just run the boy program to level up their cv line of these accounts, then they all just reached the tier 7 about the same time, because they started the same time!!!

No, only CVs, and they work the same way for all I saw. I had a thread a hour ago talking about how they behave

A person failing to load will do nothing.

It is not, and I wish it is. WG bots are not that bad and takeover certainly more welcome than stationary ships

Yeah I did that, but I wanted to take an extra step and ensure that somebody finds out about these players.

What is WG is putting these bots in to mediate the DD "problem" / lack of CVs at mid and higher tiers.  They already have code in the game for bots as their are AI controlled bots in Co-op.  

 

Supporting reasons:

• Bots run to center of the map
• Bots don't tend to play all that well
• Bots use auto drop

 

Counter reasons based on Co-op (tier 6 and down)

• I have never seen a strike CV in co-op
• The carriers actually move in co-op
• Co-op CVs typically hold a set of fighters at the CV to prevent CV sniping

 

It wouldn't be all that hard to tweak the existing co-op bot to play as shown in random battles.

• Change base setup to strike
• Deprioritize movement

There have been a lot more AFK/bot players over the past few weeks.  I had 10 games in a row on Saturday where at least 1 player was AFK.  CVs tend to be the least noticed unless they don't launch planes.

No, I'm with ya.  Just people always tell others nothing gets done unless you have a long report and video etc.  If that's the case WG should do away with in game reporting system.

I provided them with a replay and a breakdown of why I suspect them of botting. It's in their hands now. Again, I can provide a replay link for the curious so they can make their own judgements, provided it does not violate the naming and shaming rule.

I can think of only 2 reasons why they do it..

first maybe new players want to grind the cv line but they do not know how or don't have time. They want to play high tier, so they scripted a bot or get it from others, to do it for them. This is less critical as a problem.

 

what I concern is ... This can be systematic. It means some 'workshop' wants to sell the accounts with tier 10 ships, for profit. So they developed the code for cv bots. As you may or may not know, CV is difficult for players to master, but it's easier to code. So... If this is the case, we are in trouble...or WG is in trouble...

Agreed. If this becomes a big problem, I'm probably going to wind up leaving. As a BB player, it's hard enough relying on people that don't trust you, but now we have bots that we absolutely cannot rely on throwing matches for us. It's disgusting.

Just had one in my game, funny how his name is very similar to one that was caught in a video of 4 Bots in one match posted earlier,    just sent in the replay report.
