Halloween Idea: HMS Thunder Child

Yes. The famous fictional War of The Worlds battleship based off of the Canopus-class Battleships: HMS Thunder Child. Famous for destroying two Martian tripods by a combination of guns and ramming, I think it would fit well at tier 2 with the Mikasa. Now Halloween last year introduced the fictional Fujin, based of of Kamikaze. So I think we can make the exception again for it. Just an idea I wanted to share.

Thunder Child wasn't a battleship but an ironclad torpedo ram. As much as I love the WotW and Thunder Childs heroic last stand, she just doesn't fit in the game, other than maybe a very sucky T2 premium.

Depending on which source you use. Wells wasn't the best versed when it came to weapons, and the only artwork he ever approved as close was of the Canopus-class.

AFAIK the original book calls it an 'ironclad', meaning it's even earlier than the Canopus class would be. As for Canopus, a quick glance at her wiki page would have me put her at tier 2, to enter legendary battles with Mikasa. I'm all for more pre-dreads in the game - one for every nation. Can you imagine Mikasa vs Canopus vs Potemkin vs Mississippi, with all sorts of little Chesters, Dresdens, Noviks and Chikumas running around in between?

Would be interesting but only if the ship was playable in training rooms, and the mode itself, otherwise, it just would not be appropriate to have it ingame.

I have a copy of the novel(by Golden Press,seems to be originally printed 1964,then this edition reprinted 1978),its describes Thunderchild as a Torpedo Ram.

 

Have different printings of the novel had different descriptions of its type?
