Tier 3 showdown - St Louis, Bogatyr, Tenryu or Kolberg

I still kinda lean to the St Louis. Because of the armor and it is harder to  Citidel.

 

Kolberg fires faster but the guns seem weak an has little to no armor

Tenryu has good torps ,faster ship,  but Not enough guns and armor

Bogatyr is almost like the Louis. Armor is ok but AP seems to hurt it.

The St. Louis used to be OP as hell. Nothing at tier three could touch it, tier four ships had problems with it.

I still think it is the best tier three ship in the game.

I like Cruisers that are sneaky, so the edge goes to Bogatyr over St Lou, Tenryu is a destroyer and not a cruiser.

It has Cleveland arcs with guns that might as well be firing ping pong balls if memory serves. It's like an Atlanta at T3, but even weaker.

 

I would vote Boggy, but I am still with Tenny. Tenny has torps, and acceptable guns. Of the four, it's the only one that can kill any class with ease and a good captain. Boggy will still have trouble with a half way decent BB captain, same with Loius. And at it's tier, I notice that the decks quickly lose HP in BB's. By half BB HP it seems my salvo's do ~2k damage as opposed to 4-5k at the beggining.

Hey, I liked him! 30.3k dmg speaks for itself, even if that is 0.6 more than Dresden.. 

I only sold Kolberg because I needed the slot, and I have Tenryu... (sold St Louis for the same reason)

Kolberg is a Tier 2 masquerading as a T3, same as the Karl is a T3 masquerading as a T4.

 

St. Louis is the one true cruiser.

The St. Louis is a brute and it looks like Bogatyr is as well, but Tenryu is an assassin.  A good captain could use the Tenryu's superior range, fire starting ability and the threat of torpedoes to prevail.

Should I change my vote from Tenryu to Kolberg? The poor ship, why does everyone hate him... (I would say the same for the Karlsruhe, but I don't have him yet, saying that, I would probably say it, I loved pre-buff Furutaka)

Kolberg is worst ship in game. I couldn't do dmg with her; I finally free-XPed out of her after four games when I couldn't do any damage even when I was hitting enemy ships. 

 

Tenryu is my favorite. Boggy and St Louis were both fun; I can't say which one is better as I haven't played St Louis in months, so hard to fairly compare it to Boggy.

I enjoy the Saint Louis the most, since its a simple to play gunboat, armed with a very large amount of broadside weapons that allow for a impressive display of weapons fire, despite it being slow, and having poor AA defenses, it is a superb tier 3 Cruiser, and hopefully will continue to be.

For me, its a tie between St. Louis and Bogatyr, both ships are very good gun porcupines and both are quite tough.

For Bogatyr( aka Boggy ):

What i need to do is get that captain skill Advanced Fire training ( AFT ) with Basic Fire Training chance to 130mm guns and see what happens. My prediction:  I will out run all tier 3 ships including the Battleships except DDs and Tenryu. I'm faster. My Rate of fire will up from 6.5 to 6.7

 

Then only downside to this is that these maps are sand box. I can't keep the distance forever. Can I keep out of range long enough without effecting a negative outcome for the team. Of course i am talking about a tier 3 and maybe a tier 4 match.

 

Im sure with the skills mentioned above if i got caught with a 1 vs 1 with a St Louis. I will win. If the St Louis chases me i win.

With 10 guns i will hit her. BUT - if i'm behind on points and the St. Louis stays near a island i will have to close and it will come down to the RNG. 

 

Oh Jap DD ( umikaza ) may be issue ( torp lobber ) American and Russian DDs will be spotted before they get into torp range so should be no worries ( as long as i dont hug islands ). But then again - if im forced to de-cap - it could be a issue,

FUN stuff. 

Seal clubbers  vs Seal clubbers make for a Fun game and there are alot of seal Clubbers using the Boggy.
