Gotta get detonated in the first place. How does that solve anything? The mechanic still exists. That is the problem.

I've played 711 battles in battleships and have been detonated 5 times. All 5 times were in the Yamato. This is a problem with the ship, not the mechanic or flags or whatever.

Perhaps that is WG version of balancing the Yamato. Either that or they have a wierd sense of humor :hiding:

Hey... At least you do roughly 92,000 damage every broadside you fire.

 

Would be nice if that was actually the case, but nope.

I remember this... Way back maybe near the CBT/OBT switch, there were frequent complaints about Yamato getting detonated with alarming regularity... iirc it was some sort of bug in the armor near the number 2 turret... allowed torp hits inside a relatively narrow window rather easy access to the magazine. And being Shima torps, doing oodles of damage directly to the magazine module, made for a very high probability "detonation roll"

I've gotta dig through the forums now (I was no where near having my own Yamato then) but I'm sure I'm remembering this as a "thing"... or I've gone really really crazy for want of bacon tonight and am manufacturing memories.

No, that's random. Not a problem with the ship.

By all accounts, the detonation flag works like the fire chance modifiers. -100 doesn't ACTUALLY mean -100%. It means some stat that goes into an equation has been reduced by 100%,

In my experience the third turret has a tendency to be detonated by torpedoes.

THis is known as bad luck, the result the OP got is known as confirmation bias, no problem here unless it's found in the coding, can a mod close this before it becomes bad?

RNG is unrelated to player skill.

 

Confirmation bias is related to the mental capacity of the person making a claim. You are showing confirmation bias, I've been detonated the most in my kongo, there's something wrong with the kongo because I got 5 total detonations in it.

Skilled players shape their tactics in such a way to minimize the effect of rng.
