I think this is the worse ship yet , armour is so poor ,citadels easy ,dont expect to play for long with this ship

So, every other cruiser ever, then? Even the Cleveland has weak armour, and it's not hard to citadel it once you know where.

I love this ship and is my 2nd fav from this line behind the Donkey. Yes, it is poorly armored but there have been plenty of reviews and comments that everyone should know this by now and adj their playstyle for it It cannot be a lead ship. Your day will end quickly and badly for you if you are. Sit back and snipe. It is awesome in that role.

Thanks for advice will try that out , its just a pity the citadels are so high .

The armor on the Budy is better than that on the German cruisers and even the Cleveland. I lost my first couple games, though, in this ship playing too aggressively. Actually, playing it as I play the Konigsberg or Nurnberg (and even Kuma). It dies too quickly and I think the reason is it can't maneuver the same. That rudder shift and large turn radius leave it too vulnerable to "dance" with. Once I played more support it got easier and better. I started getting citadels routinely with AP. I know it's not saying much but I burned out an Emperor Nick with the HE. It was refreshing. The Emperor trying to get away getting lit with nearly every salvo. His Aoba escort disengaging every time I citadeled it as it came back in range.

You just don't know what to do in it,   Budyonny is a beast.

I have to say I totally agree with Sturm.....My Buddy is really effective - the low trajectory and tight shot group really pump up your damage and EXP scores....I'm doing well with mine...using it in an escort role, not an independent or DD support role where it can get hurt quick....

it's the filler for Cleve, now the Cleveland can be moved and there is still something similar at the teir so the meta doesn't get thrown out of whack.

It will be interesting to see what ends up at T6 for the USN.
