Cool, that'll make some people smile hopefully. Not my cup of tea, but nice to see some of the ships people are wanting available again in the shop. If only they'd include that Gremmy in the "Mother Russia" event, I'd pull the trigger on that ship in a second!

I'll second this. Also a great trainer for Russian cruiser captains. I prefer my MK over my Murmansk.

Ya, I thought that deal looked pretty good actually.  I've already got Murmansk though, and not sure I'm very interested in Kutuzov.  They haven't seemed very impressive to me in battle thus far.

it's a good primer for the Soviet cruiser line et al, however, shes more maneuverable than pretty much all of them, although I have the rudder shift time mod on mine, it's not the battleship-esque rudder shift you see on the other cruisers. Dropping a captain with Superintendent and having the premium smoke means you get 3 charges and they are good for breaking away from an engagement, regardless of what is shooting at you. It has downright devious AAA and once you learn what kind of angles (and by that I mean angle of fall) pen for the most damage with AP, and when to swap to HE, it's a golden little ship, and I really like mine.

I like it a lot.

It's captain skill set overlaps perfectly with soviet DDs, and it's very versatile, unlike other T8/9 cruisers.

Also prints credits, lots of credits.

 

Only downside are, no torpedo bulge, so it will take full damage from torp hits in the citadel region and no radar/seaplane fighter.

 

AA: fantastic

Guns: average DPS, but good arcs

Range: excellent

Torps: above average

Armor: average

Speed: above average

Rudder: above average

Turning circle: below average

Sorry if this info is "somewhere", but I can't seem to find it. Will the Mikhail have radar, if not now, eventually?  That would be my "pull the trigger" on it.

I read somewhere, THink it was in the Q&A,  it wont, it has smoke as it's special.  saying that Radar would make it way OP.

Ya, saw that. Thank you. Which it does make sense and in the Q and A someone mentioned they could do a trade off, but as it is, it "seems" from playing against it, a strong ship, but idk. Having an Atago already, which is a great ship in and of itself, really ho'ing and 'huming on this atm. lol

You're better off buying an Atago. MK is subpar... Landing 9 hits per volley out of 12 on deck hits and seeing 0 dmg and 0 fires is depressing.

 

Great brawler ship... But with is horrendous surface detect range... Chances of getting close are pretty slim. It's the Atlanta of tier 8.

The Kut is a superb escort cruiser - I usually hook with the top tier BB on my team, use my Iron Dome to keep the gnats away from her, and punish any DD's that try to get close....

 

I did not have good luck with it out doing independent DD hunting, nor doing DD support missions, but in an escort role she is truly great....

She isn't the worst going independent DD hunting but definitely better in the escort role. Her sides are rather squishy so going solo you might end up alone and can't help but offer up some easy cits to the other team, teaming up with a BB is definitely the way to go. I've had an MK come along with my BB a few times and the pairing is definitely a deadly duo, MKs like you said kept the planes off of me and assisted in taking down ships while I was dishing out the heavy damage and absorbing a lot of the attention.

Basically, think of Kutuzov as a larger Cleveland with better shell arcs, extreme range, torpedoes and slightly easier to hit citadel.

 

which actually allows you to hang back with slower ships in matches with CVs, while still being able to rain shells onto enemy ships.

Not a bad ship at all though the price seems steep.

I don't remember what I paid for mine at the time, but probably the same. LOL

 

It is a good ship, excellent AA and a very good DD hunter. Will not get radar due to smoke.

I still like Atago better, but MK is a good credit earner, and RU captain trainer.

 

It is not a first line fighter as it can be easily killed, but with its long range guns it does very well as an escort ship.
