Saipan & Campeltown API Stats

Hey all, here is the stats on the Saipan & Campeltown that are coming soon.

 

Please be aware that the module data is still missing and that all stats are subject to change prior to release.

I found it really weird that the Survivability and Torpedo tabs are at the bottom of the list of stats.

I'll probably buy both when released, but out of respect for experienced CV players, won't dare sail the Saipan until I make the plunge and get some good CV experience under my belt.

Your stats say the Saipan has 3 DB squads instead of TB.

 

Campbelltown also looks like a pretty weak gunboat with only 3 guns, but can stealth torp.  Interesting.

I think the Campeltown is a T3 mix of an american and japanese DD haha just with slower reload on torps and guns.

Yea, module data still missing in API. they did the same thing on Russian cruisers prior to release. No module data in API. as soon as they released the cruisers, they added the module data to the API. Not sure why tbh

The Campbeltown's slower torp reload is, imo, off-set by the fact that they can do up to 12k damage each.  That sounds pretty good for a T3 DD.

Eh. I kind of want Saipan, but I'm kind of bad at CVs. Plus, it has five frigging squadrons! The only line I'm not grinding is the IJN CVs, precisely because I didn't want to bother controlling a lot of squads.

No strike loadout but it is 3 torp bombers and 2 fighters.

campbeltown is the first non ijn dd capable of invis torping at low-mid tiers (pre t7 mahan/sims)

 

campbeltown is the first low tier dd (pre t6 mutsuki) who has only 2 guns per board (thankfully to those british geniuses who removed the tail 4-in gun instead of removing two mid hull ones and adding one of them to the aft... the same 3 guns but 3 per board. and why americans even designed their dd that way that their mid hull guns couldn shoot only at one side... japanese already set their guns properly look at umikaze and wakatake)

 

except mutsuki has a fire rate compensation while campbeltown shoots as fast as wickes who has 3 guns per board

It looks like the Campbelton has 1 launcher per side (2 total). I guess if the reload is fast enough, it could be competitive, but it is difficult to say.

So confirmed Saipan is Tier VII.  Probably too expensive for my cheap ***. ;) As for Campbeltown, I read 'The Destroyers' by Douglas Reeman (a historical fiction loosely based upon the St. Nazaire raid) back in grade school so I have a soft spot for this ship, so I hope she is available in some form that doesn't require beating out 10,000 other players in a Langley.
