Rant?

Why does 60% of the south spawning players on Trap find it necessary to all push A? I usually find myself to be the only person to be going to B or C, with the only support being the friendly CV. Do people do it because it's the closest point to capture. Is it because all players are blood-thirsty and want to fight and die? Please, just stop doing it. We all want to win games.

I'm not sure why most players on the south spawn all go A, it can work if the enemy team doesn't give heavy resistance, because then they can push up through B to C whilst the enemy is still trying to position themselves.

I think the spawns on Trap feel off. No matter where you spawn, it just seems like a waste to head to C, it's just too far away from both team spawns; there's just too much space to the North of each team. However, if one team decides to push up to B/C solely, and then focus efforts on just controlling those points, then the game is usually a loss for the team that took A, as they're all suck really far south in the map.

Of course, I also think that since Trap is a relatively new map still, players have yet to find a meta that works for both spawns. I usually try and go to C when I play it(if its viable to even try) just to help support the usual one or two DDs that head that way and to possibly slow down the enemy advance from flanking the team.

Perhaps C/B on Trap just isn't liked by many players because of the island layout. It does sort of make it difficult to position and keep your guns in the fight, especially if you don't have sufficient support or are just out numbered, and you very quickly lose any cover you had once you reach C. Maybe the map would improve if WG moved some islands around on the Northern side of the map and made each team spawn a bit further from A.

"A" cap is, IMO, the "trap" on the Trap map.  Why?  Because far, far too many teams that lemming into "A" very often end up trapped there by the enemy team.  And if you get trapped in the SW corner, the other team often caps you out because they have 2 out of the 3 caps.  And about the only way you can win if you're trapped in "A" is if the other team is pretty bad.  And frankly, it's a rare thing when I've seen a team get trapped in "A" that's able to get out and win the game.

Maybe the 60% you refer to know something you don't.

I find on that map the A cap is difficult to push out of due to the island layout there, whereas If you push C first it is easier to push into and take B. As Crucis mentioned quite often you get trapped in the A cap and simply cannot push out effectively.

I'm always quite vocal about going B/C and get mixed results regarding people joining me. When in a division I tend to get better results since at a minimum 1/4 of our fleet is going to be trying for B/C.
