Just wanted to stop by and say hello to everyone and let you all know about a new feature that has been added to WoWReplays.com.  After you upload a replay and stats have been processed for that replay, you will be able to click on any players name which will take you to a page showing their stats and any other replays they have uploaded to the site.  As an example you can find my EU profile by going to WoWReplays.com/Player/NA/Jammin411  This page will show you my EU stats and all of the replays I have uploaded from my NA account.  If you visit a replay page like This One you will now notice that my username in the Match details is a link as well as every player who participated in that battle.  By clicking on any of those you will be taken to their profile page with the same information mine has.

Thanks again for being so great to me and the site!  As always, keep the suggestions and feedback coming. :)

Question; does the site support older patch replays?  Or only the latest edition of WoWs?

I missed out on backing up copies of the older patches that had some of my best games (and WG hasn't formally supported an older client patch download for replay purposes), and was wondering if your site would be able to support them.

Yes, it does accept older replays, as far back as they are available.  The only thing is people will not be able to play them if they go back before 0.5.3 due to the way the client handles older replays.  Don't let it stop you though because I do keep a backup of all of the clients because I do have plans to automatically convert replays to video shortly.

there was an old Russian site for WoT that did this, it was short lived but I used it regularly because it was easy

Yeah, it was short lived because it's a process for sure.  It's also a costly one which has been what has prevented me from doing it previously.  I just about have the feature finished though, just need to figure out how to implement it with the least amount of costs involved.  :)

Cool, always nice to see new features and additions.  Now if we can work on the site not conflicting with my work's security protocol and having to sign in every time I navigate to a different page

Is it possible to make it auto-upload to youtube and force them to host, then dump the memory off your site so you don't get stuck hogging all the bandwidth?

Amazon Web Services - Elastic Compute Cloud

Yup, this is exactly what I'm looking into to take care of the computing.  I'll then dump it onto my YT account and auto-link it. Lots of moving parts, but it's mostly working now.  Still a few bumps, but will be up soon I hope.

Thanks Jammin411.

And why, pray tell, aren't you a community contributer by now?

That one service you provide should put you on that list.

I've submitted the application and I am on the EU side of the fence, but NA has not gotten back to me yet. :)

Would YT even allow that many videos to be uploaded by 1 person? Assuming that only 10% of the player base, that is still like 200 videos assuming its 1 per user lol

I have something like 3000 replays, at this point I'm not even sure why....

Sadly, I did not back up my replays and my client bugged out. Was forced to reinstall and lost everything. Are there plans in the future for some kind of automated upload? Or like a prompt that asks you if you wish to upload the video? It would be a great way to share those amazing games easily.

If they have issues with it I could always split it up over multiple accounts, but I don't think YT would care really.

In fact there is...I am looking into either modding the game or having a background application that can be installed to do it automatically.  The mod is the first route, but I'm not sure the game will allow me to do this so may end up going the second route.

Haha then my embarrassingly epic fails can be captured and recorded for eternity, instead of hidden away on my hard drive :o

Absolutely!  Email your preferences.xml file to me (Justin@Jammin411.com) and I'll make the changes and email it back. :)

Jammin411,  what country do you live in?

Your commentary sounds  like a Midwest USA?

Why do you have an EU account too? Better community relations?
