Add unlockable premium CVs

So I'm thinking of an event to encourage the falling high tier CV population. I think that it would be nice to have an event where you would need to do a certain amount of damage in a combination of CVs and Cruisers and gain enough experience on high tier BBs to unlock premium tier 8 CVs. My thoughts are: 

Soryu: Enough 72k xp on the Ryujo or unlocked the Hiryu. Soryu would be tier VII.

Akagi: 500k Damage with CVs tier V or higher, 120k xp on the Amagi

Kaga: 500k Damage with the Lexington

Saratoga: 250k Damage with an American CA tier VII or higher, 250k Damage with a CV tier VII or higher

Enterprise: 250k Damage with each of an American CA, CV, BB, and DD tier VII or higher 

Graf Zepplin: Unlock (but not necessarily buy) all previous CVs, + 500k Damage with German Cruisers tier VII or higher. (Or gain enough experience on a tier VIII German BB if the line comes out first)

 

I think that this would pump life back into high tier CVs while preventing people without any CV experience from simply dishing out 50$ to get a tier VIII ship, bring a large amount of revenue into WG, encourage people to diversify their ship type experiences, and bring historically important CVs into the game.

 

Details would probably be subject to change, I would like to see at least one of something like this implemented.

let's see how they release the saipan to us first.  They say that it will be offered to "good cv players" via a new personal offer dialog - but the system has not been put into action yet.

 

how they monetize this system will set the standard to which we can offer suggestions.  As of right now, any suggestions right now are a shot in a dark when there is already a system set to be released

Not really, I think these ships should be given away as special commemorative gifts to people (ex. reaching Rank 1 in Ranked Battles).

While I agree with the philosophy of the OP, I'm not sure I want to see more premium carriers.  Now that air groups have been reworked, any new IJN/USN CVs have to walk a fine line between being too powerful/weak for their tier and being too similar to the silver version to justify their existence.

Saipan was meant to be a test bed for premium CV's for NA and SEA servers. Would presume RU server will allow some but not to everyone (since it also seemed like CV's were treated as black sheep by RU players... about like Arty in WoT on NA)

I think some of them will be very similiar, since Saratoga was a Lexington class and Soryu is more or less in the same class as the Hiryu, but still, the different Omahas are pretty unique, although you're right about the balancing issues. The Murmansk is significantly better than the other Omahas and the Atago is absurdly OP as premium ships.

Still, these'll be questions that they'll eventually answer, unless they just don't add these ships, which have huge historical significance and popularity.

Here is a thought -- since WOW has made AA so easy for high tier ships and if you play a CV you are generally the low tier man so you planes get blown out of the sky like fireworks -- maybe - just maybe -- have CV's fight their tier or lower -- give them a chance and BOOM -- people will play em.  If nobody wants to play it -- there IS A REASON and its not GOOD.
