5% hit rate overall? Not bad, especially when you never run out of them.

 

Easily avoidable... unless you're that Montana in the picture. All the while nobody can effectively shoot back at the things. Really thrilling T8/9/10 gameplay.

Just like how W battleship either has the enemy turn rate or has RNG against them. Usually both

That is optimal situation for shimakaze. No carriers present, no enemy DD to screen them away. Don't judge a class as overperforming when they are in optimal situations.

It truly is a horrible scene when those 3 shimas see a fleet of heavy cruisers and battleships sailing along...x.x so many deaths to come.

That may be one massively wide wall of torps.  But they're spread out enough for the ships to avoid them.  What's nastier is if the DD's fired their torp spreads in more of a crossing pattern to create a situation where if you try to turn into one spread to avoid it, you end up turning broadside to a spread from a different DD.  Now that's real nastiness.

If only the spotters on those ships weren't blind and could spot a large destroyer at 15 km.

 

But the spotters are blind, the secondary battery crews are drunk and radar fire control doesn't exist.

The montana doesn't look like he altered his course or speed at all. In that situation, he should have gone to full reverse and turned in to mitigate as much damage as possible.

but the gun crew shoot like 10 times better than in reality and very little amount of planes in the air allow them to recreate ww1 battle of jutland with ships whose classes were obsolete in ww2 and quickly died out after the war because the actually useful ships it were cv and dd... those survived and flourished
