Are the stats true?

Hey, I may have mentioned before that I am doing an independent study topic for school. I am trying to make a poster that depicts the differences between United States Warships and their Japanese Warship Counterpart. So the Cleveland and Aoba, the Mahan and the Hatsuharu, etc. I was wondering if the information as in reload speed, speed, gun turn speed, range, shell type, etc. was all correct so that I could use it. If so, please let me know. If not, does anyone know of anyway that I can find out this information. I have done tons of research and have come up blank for most ships. Thanks!

Using game stats for school research is not a good idea, even if the ones in-game are accurate/historical.

 

Don't you need to reference your sources? How do you think it would look if the source is listed as World of Warships?

None of it is particularly reliable. Some things like range are determined by a nearly arbitrary metric, others like rate of fire are heavily tweaked for the sake of balance. Ship speed is generally correct as are shell types but those can depend on the year that version of the ship is modeled on.

Probably not. Many US BBs in early tiers had a much longer range.

All above give good advice.  WoW's is an arcade game often only loosely based on real life performance of real ships that really fought in WWI and WWII. It's all for the sake of "balance".  For instance do you really think Yamato could have easily laid waste to an Iowa class BB IRL?  I don't. I think just the opposite.
