Maybe it is time to remove the South Carolina BB from the lineup. Lets start the BBs with the Wyoming instead and give a quality ship to beginners in the BB category. The SC is so outdated and basically useless. Thanks for the consideration and I love this game!

So, remove the South Carolina with no mention of the Kawachi?  Really?

Even though I'm well past her, I still enjoy taking her out for a spin on the odd seal-club excursion.  I think both of the T3 BB's are sub-par, but that doesn't take away the fact that they're a good basic battleship for beginners to learn with.

It can't be hard to get 8,000 exp, even in a South Carolina...

It's not.  The SC suffers due to the competition.  Its not a beast in any regard.  Many cruisers it faces have citadels in areas that are difficult to hit, on top of the already bad dispersion, plus they have little armor so overpens are way to prevelant. I wouldn't say its a pleasure to drive but it does have its moments.  A few good hits and you can own an entire flank.

Yeah, if it was at a higher tier, maybe it'd need some buffs, but you can easily just suffer through the North Carolina, like the Kawachi, or even the Karlsruhe.

I didn't have a problem with it.  To me the hardest part was its slow speed.  If you head to one part of the map and guess wrong and all the action is at the other side, you're out of luck.

I don't think she's THAT bad! being she's one of the first ships in her "class" I suspect some of the reports of failure are due to getting accustomed to "battleships" (that and the fact you're prolly playing SC very early on in the game when you're still learning the game). I was quite surprised to see how my initial feelings about her had changed when I played the ship again after accumulating several hundred battles!

Glad to hear to you're enjoying the game despite the frustrations it can bring at times!

Come on, South Carolina is way better than Kawachi.  If you think South Carolina is bad, then I don't know how you will react to some of the other battleships in the game.

Agreed.  I'd prefer to sail the South Carolina almost every time before resorting to the Ishizuchi again...

Hey don't dis my Ishizuchi!

South Carolina and Kawachi are awful, but they teach you the basics of driving a BB, and thankfully a) there are no CVs, and b) the tier gap is small, so you can get to T4 in a short time. T4 is of course when BBs start to get decent; (not very good, but decent; good starts at T5).

I agree about the Kawachi but I disagree about the SC

22 battles with a 64% win rate?

It's one of your better ships. You should sail it more.

Need to get  your average damage up though. I think you were firing HE all the time?

I blew through her in 15 battles but dealt about twice the damage per battle, causing some very nice one shot kills of CLs.

Nothing wrong with the South Carolina, some people  have several hundred battles with 60-70% win rates.

I'd take the Ishizuchi over the South Carolina any day of the week.  Though I would take both of them over the Myogi.

I didn't mind the SC, though I don't expect I'll go back and play it much again, if ever.  It certainly didn't take me too many games to build enough XP to get past it, and I do think it was a good intro to US BB playstyle.

Definitely slow speed compounded by the relatively short range guns is the biggest problem with it.  You have to guess where the action is going to be early and head in that direction.  And on some maps, if you simply guess wrong and head to the wrong side of the map, you can basically miss the entire battle.

Frankly, if you want to play a good Tier III BB, you should play the St. Louis. :teethhappy:

Sadly, you just summed up most of the USN BB line...

While I liked Kawachi slightly better- I'm a sucker for wing turrets, what can I say?- The SC was fun as well.  Enough that I kept it, for those odd times I feel like playing it.
