ARP Kongo: What's so special about it?

That's like saying the North Carolina is an Amazing ship after the pre buff Colorado, or the New Orleans is an amazing ship after the Pensacola.  It only feels better because you can move faster and live a bit more.

I think it's better than New York in almost every way.  It has one less gun but far more range and way more secondaries.  Despite popular belief, Kongo's AA is actually better than New York when both are fully upgraded.  Kongo also has much faster speed and can turn decently well.  The only thing Kongo falls short to compared to New York is armor and concealment.  Kongo's armor is actually about tied with New York, it's just New York has a smaller citadel.

I think Kongo is one of the most "easy-to-learn" BB in entire game.

Good speed, decent maneuverbility decent armor, good range and dispersion, and relatively good AA for her tier

 

If one dislike Kongo, then IJN BB lines is not for him/her.

Kongo is great. Perhaps you use it wrong? E.g. get too far ahead and get blasted, try to brawl with New Yorks, all that?

 

It's a battlecruiser in its truest form -- fast and hard-hitting. Use it as such, and you'll have no problems.

That's a wrong statement too, because the Nagato Fuso is light years ahead of it.   The nagato Fuso will piss you off,  but its a ship that is leaps and bounds better all all things. it's one of the widest gaps in capabilities from 1 ship to the next.

Tier 7 BB is better than tier 5 BB? You don't say. Not to mention that Nagato is considered a very good BB for its tier. All of that doesn't make Kongo trash. As I said, keep in mind that it is a battlecruiser, and you'll do fine.

Kongou is a great ship.  I love her, even with her occasionally wild dispersion after playing Nagato, Amagi, Izumo, and Yamato.  One of my favorite ships to get Die Hard in (even against DDs), as well as surprise that one lone CV that wasn't expecting a Kongou to show up and introduce the sea's tender embrace to them.  My particular favorite is cross-map sniping that one slow-starting cruiser and getting a lucky Citadel or Devastating Strike and having them rant and rave over hax.  Those were truly beautiful moments my Kongou got to experience with regularity, and my Fuso to a lesser extent.

 

I'm only annoyed that WG still hasn't given the ARP Kongou actual final hulls after their namesakes, along with slightly different stats (such as more/less AA/secondaries or slight armor differences).  Let Kongou be Kongou, Hiei be Hiei, Haruna be Haruna, and Kirishima be Kirishima.  Not all 4 being the vanilla Kongharushimaiei T5 IJN BB.

she is like the IJN Kongo except she has awesome colors very pretty ship.

 

More like a Las Vegas strip Kongo, which could easily explain the lack of camouflage since the neon will likely make it stand out on the ocean.
