If you sell a ship with permanent camo (like an iowa)... if you ever buy it back, does it have te camo or you need to buy it again also?

No. You will always have the camo.

Perma camo will always be there if you ever decide to buy the ship back again. Just like with tanks in WoT.

supportive information - apparently this was tested with the first round of premium camo back on the Public Test server

and it came back if you re-purchased the ship

Why would you sell your Iowa?

Several reason on why OP selled the Iowa could be the following:

1. finished grinding it and is selling it to make more cash for the Montana(yeah I know right?)

2. Doesn't like the ship(I hear some people don't like the Iowa)

3. High tier games are costly to play

4. OP DDs at high tier games especially the Shimakaze(DD whine threads are more common than tomatoes)

5. Yamatos, many say it's overperforming

6. All of the above
