Was in a Coop match and setting up to ambush a Tenryu in my Wickes.  When he was less than 4 km away he disappears.  I shoot anyway and bug out.  I do a 360 to see what's what and there he is.... 3.8 km away, and then he disappears again.  Reappears and shoots me with torps.  I kill him posthumously, but if the friggin' bots are using hacks, what chance do we have.

So, if the bots are doing it, then a smart person could assume IT'S NOT ACTUALLY HACKS. But then, I wouldn't assume someone to be capable of that if they though there was invisibility hacks to begin with.

I've noticed that they try to match up Captain Skills as well as ships vs humans.  I noticed my opponent Atlanta with 13KM range instead of 11KM.

I'm guessing the Tenryu driver on your team might have been a 15 pointer with stealth mode.

Of course Captain Skills don't work on team mates so you will only see it on the bot.

while the bots may arguably cheat at times, they cannot hack, but hey, I'm a sour loser after being hit by a quintuple citadel from a damn nicholas so I'm likely a bit wrong.

okay, here, let me explain to you why you lost sight of the Tenryu.

 

It's because your friendly ships to the north, that were spotting that Tenryu for you, got sunk.

Everyone else was on their side of B-cap, which caused all ships behind the south island to break LoS, and therefore, the spotting you had.

You spotted the Tenryu for yourself for a brief moment, but you popped smoke, which caused you to lose sight again.

The bot entered the smoke itself, so of course you weren't going to spot it, unless you had hydro-acoustics, but since you're a low tier DD, you don't get that ability anyways.

Good to see some evidence that at least some of these incidents are game flaws and not hacks.

 

Of course, it doesn't take a search engine wizard to see that there are real hacks for the game out there. Not Aim Assist mods, but all out hacks.

 

Fortunately for those who write or pay for the hacks, the sad state of the game engine just gives them all plausible deniability.

 

Sorta hard to get someone banned for using invisibility hacks when the game does things like make non-hacking BBs disappear at 8KM, no obstructions, or some DD can sit in smoke and shoot at you, with out being discovered, at under 1.5km. (Both of these have happened to me personally).

 

If they ever did succeed in blocking 100% of hacks and "undesirable mods", it would remove the plausible deniability from WG about some of the serious issues the game itself has.

The bots CHEAT, I have enough matches in co-op to have proven that much (seriously they can set their damn turrets to neutral if they don't have a target spotted, I've seen it) but hacks, that's going too far.

Maybe not, but it helps drown out some of the "stoopid"  on display in this thread.
