The AFT nerf I am fine with, orbital shell trajectories caused bad sniping gameplay and low tier seal clubbing. The BFT nerf was questionable as it's an easily grabbed T1 skill so the seal clubbing argument falls apart. However both were in the "Secondary Armament" skill tree so it's understandable.

The EM nerf was completely uncalled for however. It's literally in the "Artillery" skill tree so it was intended for Main batteries in the first place. It's a T2 skill so it's easily grabbed by newbies so the seal clubbing argument falls apart. Now it makes killing close range DDs that much more difficult, completely negating the job of a CL in the first place, which is what the Mogami is. The turrets are completely unable to track a target while turning since they actually turn slower than the ship itself, which is not a trait CLs should have.

If the EM nerf is going to stay (which truthfully I don't mind considering the other CLs had ridiculous turret traverse speeds with it) the Mogami badly needs a buff to turret traverse up to 42-43 seconds at least, so that EM can come along and bring that down to 36 seconds again, which is fast enough to just barely turn with the ship. In fact, the Mogami originally had its turret traverse nerfed when EM first came along, but now that it's less effective, it needs a slight rebuff applied to it.

EM nerf seems over the top, especially since base turret rotation speed had been nerfed (for Mogami and others , I think Cleveland also) based off of EM effected performance.

Should buff Cleveland and Mogami turret traverse to what they were capable of before.

I hear ya OP, but only solution is to be patient.

WG is probably going to end up re-balancing most CLs after they get some post-patch data, assuming(as most do) that simultaneous nerfs to aft/bft/em will result in a significant drop in performance for many ships

OK, I was really wondering what I did wrong to screw up my Mogami.  Glad I'm not the only one.

Well I had no plans of going beyond the Mogami anyway..  So Now back the the Nagato and on to Amagi until the re balance happens.

After a LONG time of Mogami being OP AS BALLS, I'm pretty much ok with the 155mms on it being "trash." They come with such good strengths, they need massive weaknesses. Ideally people will use the 203s on them.

Also, I've about had it up to here with people saying 15.1km range isn't enough (which, granted, you did not make that complaint so good on you), and that it's not right ]that the range on the Myoko is longer. The Myoko having longer range doesn't make 203s on the Mogami unplayable. I mean, if you use USN cruisers, you have 15.7km range max on the Pensacola. The New Orleans range goes up to 16.2km. Then the range on the Baltimore goes back down to 15.8km. USN cruisers have some advantages over IJN cruisers, but very, very few. From tier 7 to tier 9, USN cruisers get 1/10th of a KM of extra range, 400 more damage per shell, 1 fewer gun total, 1 more gun forward, worse turret traverse speed, worse arcs of fire on the turrets, worse arcs on the shells, and armor goes from 3 inches to 6 inches, which does a lot less than most people think.

The Mog with 155mm guns used to have everything. Now it has tough choices to make, and this is right and proper. Hipper and New Orleans sure as hell have tough choices to make...
