The most played ship in WoWs was also the most popular class of cruisers built on WWII.

Ep. 12 of History & Combat features the USS Cleveland.

Enjoy!

Firing HE like a scrub.

Cant cause fires with AP now can you? Gotta love fire missions!!! Lol

Besides, no real opportunity to close w/n 8km on anybody w/o BB support.  I was trying to conserve hp's.

I killed the Cleveland at the end with AP though.  Didn't you see? You gotta watch til the end to find out what happens to the Norman Scott!

Yep, saw that. I'm surprised you didn't mention that not a single Cleveland was sunk in combat and the only existing ship of her class is in Buffalo, NY.

Its regrettable that I have to leave things out. Trying to boil down 2 legal pad pages worth of notes into a digestable story with flow, that isnt just me reading from a book line for line requires some sacrifice.

But these are historical tidbits that im definately interested in and Im glad you mentioned them.

Are you a history buff?

Nope, I'm from Buffalo. :teethhappy:

I set foot on her deck back when I couldn't reach the top rail.

Thats cool.

Well, I grew up in South Jersey, so you can come down to see the USS New Jersey and have a cheesesteak and I'll go up to Buffalo, see the USS Little Rock and gets some of them wings...

What a great video. Thank you good sir for putting this out. I love this series.

I picked this video because "the move" failed. j/k

hopefully no one notices. Or sees you blow up or hears you say the move failed...

There must be something with the Anshan that counters the move.

Id be interested to find out if anyone has anything to add to the history of the Cleveland; anecdotes, stories, relatives who served on or with the Cleveland.

South Buffalo boy here Steelreserv,  I have been on her and The Sulivans too, Everybody tries the famous Anchor bar wings, but you should also sample wings from the neighbor pizza joints as well, you won't be disappointed.

This was your reaction to the video!?  Steelreserv I would just ignore posts like this.  HE is extremely viable in a Cleveland at range.

Great video.  I appreciate the history you bring to the videos.  It is unique and very interesting.  Thanks for putting it together.  +1

I've heard of the Anchor bar, its world famous. But yeah, its the "off the beaten path" or local favorites that I'm interested in.

The Sullivans is there...cool.  What a heartbreaking story that was...holy moly.

Well done historic overview.

Thanks.

Thanks. Love the avatar.

I regret not being able to fit in the air attacks the Cleveland defended.  I talked about AA quite a bit on the Wyoming video (believe it or not, there are reasons that that makes sense).
