I need your help Community! I am right now in a situation where I have to decide between the Bogue and the Zuiho. Unfortunatly I sold my Zuiho half a year ago and don`t know how she behaves now and spending 3 million Credits only to test her is a bit too much. So my dear IJN CV players I have some questions:

How is the manual drop spread from the Torpedoes? When I sold her the spread was more like a triangle and not like the block the USN Carriers offered. Has it changed or is it still that bad?

Do you stand a chance against a fighter heavy USN CV? Of course using fighter strafe and maybe a bit of friendly AA. And how is the IJN fighter heavy loadout?

Overall to those who are playing both nations what would you suggest for someone like me who wants to go for air-superiority and who wants to deal some damage after gaining AS? Which carrier do you prefer to use. What is your biggest threat in each nation?

Thanks in advance :)

It isn't a triangle... I dont have her but have been targeted by her. IJN torp drops come in at angles and intersect at one point as opposed to a line of straight fish. It isn't drastic angles but it is world of hurt if they aren't juking to mess up your run

basically, a bogue with the fighter loadout (whats everyone uses) is gonna ruin your zuiho play all the time, not even kidding. but the ryujo is REALLY worth it tho, and i see more independences with strike loadouts. feel free to ask me anything else

So you say that the following Carriers are not as defenseless as the Zuiho. That would mean the IJN Carriers are perfect for me! And as I already asked: Has anything happened to the manual drop spread?

Something like this

Seems like they improved the spread. Okay thank you for this info!

Would you recommend IJN Carriers? Just asking for your opinion..

no, not really, i can perfectly use the manual drop in my ryujo. its great because it deals A LOT of damage when you attack the same target with both tbs and piss off battleships. besides, the ryujo has a pretty good fighter loadout, and the hiryu has an even better one, 3/1/2, so i think its really worth it.

if you keep your torpedo bombers together and attack a broadside battleship, you can deal half his health in damage or even kill him. then, when he repairs the flooding, set him on fire with your 2 dive bombers. if you want just gimme a call so we can harass some battleships

It was inverted to make dropping easier. Torps now converge in rather than spread out

Phew. That was one of the things I hated the most. Thank you :)

If you're a seasoned player in RTS games and you are good at macro management and/or micromanaging, I think IJN carriers are the most rewarding. USN offers some more control and for the lesser experience trading squad amount for squad power.
