Does torpedo acceleration affect torpedoes from torpedo bombers?

It does. Or at least it really looks that way to me. Arming time is the same so you have to drop a little further away. Which makes it a buff to IJN and their converging pattern.

arming time is the same but the torp travels faster and therefore further, so you will have to adjust your aim

It does, as someone that uses auto drops arming is less an issue but the speed increase is noticeable, also helps a little on attack angles becase that shorter range reduces an overshoot hitting some teammates normally in range.

Yes sir. I'm a noob cv captain that still struggles with manual drops and the speed increase was significant. Worth it if you haven't mastered leading torp drops and your salvos fall short.

Thanks a lot guys. Was deciding which T3 skill to give my CV captain since previously only 1 T3 is useful for CVs.

It works, and it works well. However, if you can land torpedoes without, I would. There are other skills available which are also quite useful, and this is a "skill" that can actually be made obsolete through practice.

Actually it also allows you to hit more torps with IJN, something you can't do without the skill.

You need to drop further away, due to increased arming time, but since the torps also travel further on their path by the time they arm, they have also converged more.

It becomes even better for non-point blank drops, as you can actually hit tight clusters of torps without the target needing to be a lobotomized monkey.

Yes, but you don't necessarily have to use the skill to do that. It certainly makes it much easier, but with enough practice you can do without and achieve similar results on both IJN and USN CVs. I'm not saying don't do it, I'm saying it's not a 100% go to choice. Damage control cooldown is definitely a worthwhile skill too.
