Notice how the 4 ships on the minimap don't move one bit. Two of them are in a division together.

Seriously what the hell? Why would you even bother queuing up in a battle if you're just going to AFK? And 4 AFKs...well that's just ridiculous. Needless to say we lost.

I would like to think they had issues with the upgrade and got disconnected but 4 AFK seems a bit much.

Those don't look like normal spawn points to me. Looks more like they moved to that spot and got DC'ed.

The two beside B were in a division, both stopped moving 30 seconds in and then sat there all match. The other two never moved the whole match.

Could be with the CTD issues being seen in the new patch.  I crash about 30 seconds in on matches it seems and will keep crashing instantly on reconnect.

Maybe 2 guys noticed 2 guys were AFK and bailed due to their crappy prospects at winning.  It would seem to be a common reaction, although I've never seen 4 ships go AFK/DC/whatever the hell you want to classify it.  4 people are missing from your team.

I was in a battle today and my computer went blue screen due to a driver problem  and had to restart my computer to fix it

No, the only reason to bail on your team is when they start complaining in chat at the start of a battle about how MM is screwing them. They are losers and deserve to lose. :hiding:

Id say they got disconnected or screen froze  anytime after an update like this a lot of bad connection problems always pop up thats why its always a good idea to play several matches in co op after an update before joining in random or ranked so if you gonna experience issues you want affect a large team in a bad way

Maybe all 4 players are from the same area and lost power/internet? They all moved from the spawn so I'm having trouble believing all 4 went AFK willingly.

Fickle and flawed reasoning.  I hope you don't end up on my team .

There are reports of people crashing out within 10 seconds of match start in low tier ships. South Carolina, Diana, Sampson, and Albany are the four I've seen so far.

Well if you are one of those defeatist loser types that whines in chat, then the feeling is mutual.

BTW, it was tongue and cheek, I would never bail from a battle for any reason, that didn't involve an RL emergency. I just want to when I see I am on a team of whining babies, because invariably the perceived MM advantage has more to do with the fact that they just don't know how to captain their ships and they are excuse makers.

But please feel free to whine about MM when you are on the other team, as that always makes my day.

New patch.  Games crash are unplayable so user kills the process.  You can't always get back into the match either because you are locked out, or you can't get restarted in time.

Most "AFK" people are just having PC problems, usually due to patches.

i don't know about the rest of you but WoWS has crashed once on me since July.

If people are having PC problems, i'd bet it's usually due to PC problems.

As a related question, does your ship stop if you DC from the game or does it maintain its current rudder and speed?

Stops

I pretty regularly get the VRAM crash and Infinite loading screen.

My computer is built for sin and I do clean installs after patches.

Wargaming products are just amongst the worst codes games 'on the market'.  That's not a PC issue. It's a Russian thing.

One other issue if a player loads a battle and finds the minimap missing (common bug lately), a mod has broken everything, or the ultra-laggy mouse pointer they may instinctively try to restart the client. That will lock them out if the battle.

I didn't follow what you meant about being built "for sin" - but it sounds like you're saying you take care of your PC and it should not be experiencing these issues.  that's a fair statement.  I can only point to my own PC build and that fact that I'm not modded, and that I've never had any of these bugs.  I've fought almost all my battles on a Windows 7 Pro x64 machine.  Just upgraded to 10 Pro and i guess I'll keep my fingers crossed but so far, one crash ever in 1000+ battles since July '15.

Some of the things that I think contribute to my fortune are, in no particular order:

  • No game mods
  • 1 single and good quality Nvidia card - not a fanboy but I have had way less problems with my single 780 than I ever had with single and dual AMD cards of my past.
  • Diligent driver updater
  • hard wired network connection, keyboard, and mouse, with 10 MB/s internet
  • most recently, upgraded SSD to fit not just my OS but my games as well, which has made loading times more consistent and quick.

So it's hard for me to agree their code is bad when I look at my own experience.  And as a software tester by trade, I can tell you I've seen a whole helluva lot worse (professionally and commercially as a customer.)
