1. do you have a game without an enemy dd with better guns?

2. do you have people preoccupied with other things

you do alot and you are uncontested.

 

 

otherwise you do nothing.

And people say cv gameplay is all or nothing

Well a lot of times the enemy DDs are occupied trying to not die by me, DD hunting in Kiev, it's like seal clubbing, but instead of clubs you get laser guns.

No nothing has better guns than Kiev, it has been proven by very sekrit dokumentz :trollface: (but i really love that thing, unlike the Trashcan)

Well, when you play russian DDs nothing has better guns than you (other DDs ofc) but the german cruisers are a pain in the [edited].

Not sure what the **** this thread was about, but I will point out recent CV nerfs have given DD's the ability to solo cap/win games. Let's change the thread to "Keep CV's Viable" before the forums explode in a wash of "I was sunk by a DD!" tears. Again.

Yeah I think so.

 

Anyways VMF vs USN DDs pretty much get decided by what range they fight at. If it's within 7km it's pretty much USN every time. The RoF, turret traverse, and superior agility trumps over the negligible (at <7km) shell arc and velocity.

 

Which is a problem for VMF because of their inferior camo. If they try "hunting" USN DDs they're almost always going to be well within 7km. Kiev is about the only exception to this, but only because the Mahan has some god awful camo for a USN/IJN DD.

DDs can only solo cap if it is uncontested. Sit any bigger ship on it and they're not getting that person off that cap. The real problem here is we need to fix BB/CA interaction so either can do such a thing as get on cap. Currently at high tiers if there is any other gunship <15km of you you're not capping it.

1. Ever had a game where there isn't any enemy DDs with better guns?

2. Ever had a game where the enemy is paying attention to something else and you were free to do anything? (otherwise you're not doing anything. I didn't include that   but still gonna put it)

3. People say CV gameplay is all or nothing, is it true?.

DDs are always useful. Usually ones that are outgunned have better conceal, so they spot and let other ships take care of it. They are great for area denial, they don't even have to shoot torps. A smart BB isn't going to charge and lose his screen if he doesn't know where all the DDs are, or if he knows one is in front of him. Definitely not all or nothing, but depending on what you encounter it will change the way you play a match, same as any ship.

I can translate! Don't worry, i think, eh:

1. Ever had a game where there isn't any enemy DDs with better guns?

2. Ever had a game where the enemy is paying attention to something else and you were free to do anything? (otherwise you're not doing anything. I didn't include that   but still gonna put it)

3. People say CV gameplay is all or nothing, is it true?.

 

1. If you mean DDs with potato cannons, then yes, against a Tachibana.

2. If you mean the enemy being distracted by teammates then, yes.

3. I only have the Hosho. I either have lots of torpedo hits and flooding or enemy fighters ate all of my planes. All (have planes) or nothing (not even a single planes left). Yeah, that,s what comes to my mind by all or nothing.

lol  was in couple high tier matches today with 1DD.   lol  i was lone fubuki in tier X match.  it was lovely.

A well upgraded Udaloi has got a shot, too. Main Battery 3 with Expert Marksman brings great rate of fire and decent turret turn (9 seconds). HE isn't amazing, but the volume of fire and the HP advantage can push it past a Fletcher. Plus, if you can get it into a protracted fight, its speed allows it to open the distance.

 

The beauty is that the guns are also not half bad against bigger ships. It gets a bit more fire chance on its HE, plus the best DD AP when anything bigger goes broadside to it. Max stealth gives it a 1km stealth torp window, although they hit like wet noodles. With some offensive smoke and some allied spotting help, an Udaloi can make anything not careful with it pay the price for pushing into the cap it's occupying.

Well, when you play russian DDs nothing has better guns than you (other DDs ofc) but the german cruisers are a pain in the [edited].

 

I have no issue  dispatching Kievs with my Benny.

Hmmm, you make an interesting case. I'd grind for that line if I wasn't continuously poor from the queue of upper tier ships. When RU DD line was introduced I had Benson, Colorado, Nagato, and Kagero to buy and outfit. Now it's Fletcher, Shimakaze, Aoba, and Cleveland....

 

Ready for all but Shima, but not even Project R cash will outfit that for me. Got a long way to go....
