How will teamplay be?

Hello, I'm curious how people think teamplay will be in WoWS. Usually, in the first months of a new game, the community is a respectful place. By respectful, I mean "Hey, good shot buddy", not "**** you ***hole". The latter is how WoT currently is. I was amazed last night in WoT when I 1 shotted a T30 in my S-51, and he simply said "Nice shot". Out of 10k battles, that's the first time someone has ever said that to me. Do you think a respectful community will hold out in WoWS? Should it be more strictly enforced in WoWS? I've already  noticed, after a day on the forums, that this community is 10x more respectful than the WoT community.

Well from what it sounds like WoWS is going to be a slower pased game so it will be a more select community so I think it is a good possibility that it will be a good community. Also I usually have a player in WoT say like Nice shot about once in every 300 games. Although I try to compliment good shots and such or when the other player does a great job of killing me.

You indeed don't see many 'nice shot' or simulair compliments in WoT these days. I try to compliment most if the time if I am impressed by the skills of the player that just cought me.

Hmmz, i must be in the wrong games then... Those compliments are rare, the insults aren't however.. :Smile_sad:
But i hope this game will get a nice and friendly community, as that would be awesome in so many ways!

This will be a totally different game...I think a majority of players will be respectful to each other and work well with each other to try and win and have a good time, but you will have the other kind of players in here as well.

These will be mini floating cities fighting against each other, and most of the time at long range. So it will be like everyone playing arti on WoT :Smile_hiding:  Yet, I guess will see how the community changes as we get closer to the game testing. So as you see the forums change...you will kind of know what you might expect.

 

But to WoT...for me most of the time the remarks are nice ones :Smile_glasses:...with the rare 'F you Tanz and your no skill to play Arti' :Smile_teethhappy:. Love those the most :Smile-_tongue:

i hope that it will have a good community, but there are probably still going to be allot of non-respectable people as almost every game has trolls

Well from the GM stand point,  we are doing our best to keep things friendly.

 

If you come across insults in World of Tanks please either use the in game report system or send in a ticket to support.

 

We take all of it very seriously,  as we do in World of Warplanes,  and we will in World of Warships.

It's very interesting that in WOT, the community is much more civil than in others (like the DOTA clones).  For a FPS, I expected WOT to fall into frequent insults and raging.  I haven't.  If WOWS is to be a slower paced game, I suppose you'll see more reserved and patient players.

As JeeWeeJ said, we must not be playing the same games.  I have never heard the "N" word (racial expletive) in any other game than in WoT.  I now count the battles when I don't hear it.

 

On the other hand, the community on WoWP and WoWS seems to be more civilized.

I don't play WoT too much these days, as I am a sailor, not a tanker.  However, I have a small group of friend that I run with when I do play and they are all good people(all prior Navy actually...).  That being said, I have seen some unsavory language on WoTs, but not really that much compared to most other online games.  I'd give WoTs a 7/10 on civility.  WoWS will likely attract a slightly different breed of gamer, so I have very high hopes for the level of civility and respect here, and I am looking for about a 9/10(10/10 is for pool night at the VFW).

To be fair...WoT is nothing when compared to Navy Field when in comes to insults. But that's the risk of a F2P game i guess..

So far we have all been been freindly and civil with eachother for the most part. Thats a trend I would like too see continue as the number of people increases. It will really be up to the early closed and open beta plaers to really set the tone for the game. As development of the game moves forward I think everyone needs to make an effort to make this a fun and supportive community.

In World of Warplanes you can be a star lone wolf player, but you can work with teammates if you want to.

 

In World of Tanks you can be a lone wolf but it isn't recommended and the winners work with each other.

 

In World of Battleships, being a solo player simply isn't an option. You win or lose by your teammates.

 

Whatever feelings you have towards your teammates will be at least ten fold compared to other games.

Yeah, things here on the NA side are pretty good.. The EU WoWs forums are pretty bad in comparison (IMHO).
