What is it with people who at the start of the match call out "All ships go X way!"  Do they not realize that there are objectives in all match modes, and if you leave a flank open(yes there are still flanks in this game whether you admit it or not), you're just allowing someone to waltz in and cap.  These "people" raise my hackles, but my wrath are for those who like to play what I've heard colloquially called "next contestant".

Take a lemming train, and they go in 1 at a time to be obliterated. The rest don't even stop to form up, they just go in 1 at a time and you just see one ship after another in quick succession just get torn to shreds.

I literally watched last match as a Myoko got Krakken inside of 3 minutes. I was smart enough to turn around and book it, took out alteast 1 DD, and beat down a cleveland for good measure with my Atlanta before i got summarily crushed by said Cleveland and focus fire.

But my god, what possesses people to go in one at a time lambs to the slaughter like that. And props to the Myoko that match for what he called "the fastest Krakken I ever got!"

figured out February on the first day when the special missions were posted

1 - do the missions

2 - winning is irrelevant

3 - when in doubt - defer to #1

I like watching the scenario where everyone goes one way, and stays there until the enemy team waltzes into the base.

Then everyone rushes back, clears out the invaders that are coming in one at a time, and then performs the final push, usually with good results.

But...it requires a few things.

1.  The portion of the enemy team responsible for holding my team back needs to be heavily damaged.

2.  The enemy waltzes in one at a time, with destroyers first, then cruisers, then battleships...

2b.  Because of 1, the wing responsible for holding us back isn't going to push aggressively and create a 2 front battle.  So a token force is enough to hold them back while we're mopping up.

3.  Our team must not have suffered heavy losses in the beginning.

And that requires also your team to rub 2 braincells together.

Yeah, I've seen the rather annoying situation where they start capping and WE return one at a time.

1. Most don't live long enough to do any meaningful impact to the missions.

2. Amen

3. refer to 1

Welcome to World of Warships, where 70-80% of the playerbase have no real clue how to play their ship.

'Nuff said right there!

Because the game doesn't punish people hard enough in order to get them to improve.

People are stupid.  Why do we need a new thread about people being stupid every 3 minutes?

sorry shizzle, I just couldn't take it anymore and needed to vent.

The other day someone was complaining about me being useless in my Warspite.

To which I will agree, to an extent, as it's not exactly my fault that the other friendly BBs decided to follow me, expose their broadsides to get sunk quickly, that the group on the opposite side of the map was just completely stomped on and that only half the enemy team decided to show up on my side of the map.

Look, there's only so much one ship can do, especially if it's slow and doesn't have a lot of range.

I find it funny that this game is all about focus fire and situational awareness, and yet when people stay together (which also adds a huge benefit to AA defense), they get yelled at by noobs.  Notice how in clan wars teams stick together and they are far more effective in doing so.  More guns fired at the enemy against less fired back wins more often than not.

And I say noobs, like the OP, because there's a difference between running off (like in Ocean map) in such a far direction that you put yourself out of position from both caps.  Yes that happens and it usually ends embarrassingly bad, but you also just as much get teams that stay together, completely dominate the half of the enemy team that split up (12 vs 6) while staying within range of cap to defend if necessary, and steamroll the remaining 6 players afterwards.

TalonV no matter how egotistically brilliant you think you are in predicting the future, you do not possess the enlightened powers in the first 30 seconds of the match—which is the moment most whiners complain about people all driving off in one direction—to spout off your annoying whining about everyone being a lemming.  And most of the time they are not in single file dying one at a time which is the real definition of lemming.  It's ridiculous when coordinated, together movement in one direction is viewed by noobs as a lemming train.

I love seeing the team stick together, the possibilities to steam roll the other team are all that much greater.

Oh and BBs and some cruisers especially at the higher tiers can shoot half way or more across the map.  Another pathetic comment people make is about cruisers and BBs being out of position like east of the cap in Two Brothers when in fact they are successfully engaging targets well within range doing great damage (yes contrary to what noobs think, you can do solid damage at range if you know how) while simultaneously not taking unnecessary damage.

You can rationalize all you want, but just like the myth about adjacent players at the blackjack table affecting the odds of your hand with their decisions, you're only going to remember and get emotionally hijacked over the times where going in one direction failed and completely discount the many times it succeeds.
