I thought I'd introduce my self since I have a few questions to ask.

I was sitting in back of this guy at a public wifi one day and noticed him playing a navy game. It looked pretty realistic, I even recognized a few of the ships, I'm kinda a navy history buff. Hey that looks kinda cool I said. I asked what game he was playing and here I am today. Also I'd like to mention that I am not a gamer what so ever, last video game I played was Donkey Kong at an arcade in the 80's.

I just have a few questions that I'm trying to wrap my head around:

1. I know this game is an on-line thing but do these games usually take so long to load? I hit the short cut then load the game - Connecting - Battle - Start Battle, anyway to speed things up a bit?

2. I noticed the stranger I met playing the game was in a full on navel conflict reminiscent of Leyte Gulf or Midway, I saw carriers, destroyers and even a battle wagon, Musashi or Yamato. Does the game progress as you get better, I'm currently having missions of boring shoot'n up with destroyers in a archipelago.

3. Finally, I seem to be getting memory errors. I attached a pic from someone else on this forum that has the same error. It started happening more often after the third or forth day of playing. Any ideas?

Just an FYI my computer is a i7-4940+32 ram+nvidia 880+ssd it should be able to handle it.

Thank you for your reply.

your computer specs should play this game. I play on a Toaster (granted not blazing speed) just make sure your drivers are up to date.  the game does load kinda slow. as far as progressing . the game has a tech tree that you advance through by playing the game..every match depending how you do earns XP (for upgrades and new ships) and Silver used to buy upgrades and ships..

welcome aboard

32 GB of RAM in a laptop??  What version of Windows?  According to what you say your specs are,  it should run fine.  Clear your cache and eliminate any unnecessary programs running in the background by using sysconfig in the Windows start box.  See Windows 'HELP' to explain sysconfig.exe to yourself.

Yes things do get better and maps do get bigger the more you progress the tiers, if you want a recommendation grind the IJN BB/BC line, the Yamato eats everything at tier 10, don't touch CVs they are kinda unbalanced right now and not in a good way.

You can't shortcut loading times of the server, only loading times that are client side

The memory errors, i have no idea, i have a PC from 2007 and im able to run the game at a constant 30fps without crashes or errors.

Game changes drastically from tier 1-3 to tiers 4-7 and again 8-10. I would recommend hanging out at tiers 4-7 for a while as thats where the beef of the game is. It is also the most fun IMO. Games get really exciting at times, especially if you have a couple of friends to division with. Just keep up the boring shootouts at tiers 1-3, you'll be out of them soon. It only takes about 3 days to get to tier 5 with a modest amount of games, something like 10-20.

As far as crashing, the usual, make sure drivers are up to date. You have a decent rig, no reason it shouldn't be loading fast or crashing at all.

Put game on SSD, will fix loading issues. If not I'm guessing there is a reason why people say not to game on wireless.

Reinstall your visual C++ library 2010 2012.

If  you upgraded to 10 you should do a full reformat and full reinstall of 10 and everything and start with a clean PC.  Knock out registry and driver conflicts.

Thank you all for the reply and comments.

I have played a few rounds during lunch today and it looks like the memory errors have disappeared. Must have been the wifi gremlins at the local coffee shop yesterday. I use my system for 3d modeling and engineering so I was guessing it would handle the game.

I am glad to hear that the missions do progress in to full on Task Force assaults. I'm looking forward to it. Baby steps I suppose. Now to just get through tier 1 to 3.

Again playing a few more rounds I'm getting the hang of it. Starting to understand the XP system.

Thank you all again all
