What was your luckiest shot recently?

I was out in either my Arkansas or Wyoming recently and the match was nearly over. A few straggling red ships on the opposite side of the map that the rest of the team were mopping up pretty easily and one near death destroyer sailing directly away from me nearing my max range. I had AP loaded, made the switch so the next reload would be HE, took a shot with both forward turrets, one hit, one kill, match over.

 

Since someone else has posted one, the luckiest shot someone has made on me recently was in my Kolberg, 4 straight losses, I warn my team that I seem to be cursed in this ship, first hit I take less than 2 minutes into the game is a detonation from a torpedo.

Single round out of my Albany....detonated a poor Sampson....and there was much rejoicing amongst my team.  Meanwhile the Sampson drivers response was, "wth?" while mine was, "WELL PRAISE BE TO RNGESUS!"

In my Hatsu running from a Mahan. I tossed torps at a Konigsberg (yes, expecting to sink him) and got the Mahan, too. Double Strike plus two Devastating Strikes. Pure luck on the Mahan...

Opening of the match, I am in my Cleveland.  An enemy CA gets spotted at my max range, I line up a shot but he disappears before I take it, aim with my best guess let my shells fly because there was nothing else to shoot at.  As you know Cleveland shells have hang times like hellium balloons. Fiqured I missed just as I get the Devestating Strike and he gets Detonation.  lmbo, that was the best.

Got a beautiful RNG dispersion roll in my Amagi the other day. Had an enemy battleship broadside at about 8km, with his guns pointed the other way shooting at a teammate, and hit him for a triple citadel and a punch of pens for 45k damage and a devastating strike. Nothing beats a BB on BB devastating strike for me because they happen so infrequently.

Me either prior to that...I said on TS...Ranging shot....and the ranging shot was....well yeah...Praise be to RNGesus that day.

I had a similar experience once when I had the Kongo for a night or two before the beta reset. A DD got in real close nose to nose, it was of course going to break to one side and hit me with every torp it had. I had HE loaded, hit with every shell from the front turrets and wrecked the poor thing.

Friday or Saturday, I was in a Hatsu... I blind-fired both loads of torps (on wide) into a smokescreen. Hit a destroyer, killing it. Yay, I think. About 30 seconds later, a cruiser gets hit.  Yay, I think. 30-40 seconds later, the cruiser dies due to flooding. I just laughed.

I one got a one shot kill detonation full broadside on an Atago trying to hide behind a small island and less than a minute later a one shot kill detonation full broadside on a kongo coming around the same island... it was glorious!!

the other night in the tirpitz when i fired at a pensacola just as it was turning to go behind an island...i held until the very last second hoping to hit his broadside before they were protected by the island, but i thought i held on too long and the shots would fall behind them or even hit the steep cliffs of the island.

 

then my game crashed as the shots flew forcing me to restart...when i got back into the game i was dead with a kill credit, but so was the Pcola from 2 citadels and a few other (im guessing spalling) hits. devastating strike, i only wish i could have seen it.

Was in my Nagato, targeted a Nurnberg,   a few seconds before I shot he blinked out of existence but my rounds were out of the guns,  I sailed on thinking oh well,  12 seconds later, 3x Citadel, Devastating strike, First blood.

was a double crit and 2 shot insta kill on a Cleveland from over 18km away while using the spotting plane (which I dislike sometimes from the angle it puts you out) in the Colorado. Thinking I was going to miss but he turned into the shot ever so slightly and Instead death for him. Was like Holy crap.... What just happen

I fired randomly into Zone B on New Dawn and detonated a Clemson I didn't even see.

Couple of days ago in my Kagero on North, 4 cap Domination) Spawned in the north and went towards C. Came across an enemy Fubuki and spotted 2 BB's that went D.Took C and chased the Fubu away. Little while later spot the 2 BB's coming up the 9-10 line from D and dump torps, and a few minutes late hit and sink the Fubu that I didn't know was there (and missing both BB's).

I was in my Phoenix yesterday (collecting pearls).  On Solomon Islands, I spawned on the south team and headed east.  Once i cleared the island, i sent out 3 torps, just because . . . I nailed a Wakatake that popped out of there.  Totally random, lucky shot.  Got a first blood and a devastating strike out of it, too.  

 

I've blundered into that a few times, and it was nice to get a little payback . ..

Two come to mind:

 

First wasn't a single shot, but it was two. Fired two salvos at max range at a Nurnberg in my Nagato. Both salvos resulted in citadel pens.

 

Second was a triple-citadel pen against an Amagi with my Tirpitz.

In (ARP) Kongo, on Strait, I lucked into a Devastating Strike salvo (two citadels, multiple pens) on an enemy Cleveland that was capturing our base ... fired from my position capturing their base, over 20km away.

Oh, I just thought of another one.

 

Blind-fired torps from my Atago into some open ocean. About 40 seconds later...I hear the ding you get when you blow up an opponent.

 

Turns out an enemy Hatsuharu sailed into one of those torps.
