What Is The Best Cruiser?

Just wondering what you consider the best cruiser to be and why?

I used to do well in the Phoenix but not so much now.

Of the cruisers I've played (up to USN: 7; IJN: 4; KM: 9), my favorite has got to be the Roon. I've recently been managing 100k+ damage games with it.

VI - Cleveland

I have a strange love for the Pensacola.  It takes citadels like nothing else, but it punches like a BB.

simple answer is that there is no best. it is all personal opinion.

Erie. 

 

If ya enjoy tier 1 at times the Erie hits hard and is good. You Will do damage and kill in it.  Orlan is also pretty good but lower cal guns.  St Louis is a tank and a beast but slow.  I also like Kuma.

Seal clubbing in the Dresden down at tier 2 is just about the most fun you can have with your pants on....

If you are going by tier then my opinion is of the ships i have or have played against:

 

2. Dresden

3. St. Louis

4. Kuma

5. Konigsberg

6. Cleveland

7. Myoko

8. Atago (a good pilot mind you)

9. Roon

10. Zao/Hindenburg

 

The easiest cruiser to play/do well is probably the Cleveland, very forgiving at T6.  The highest skill ceiling cruisers are probably the high tier Germans.  Im my opinion, and this probably isn't the popular pick, I would say tier for tier and with the most ability to actually influence the battle and hold its own against higher tiers: Myoko.

Tier V No love for the Konigsberg?  I am finding that I like it better than my Omaha

Teir IV I thought the Karlsruhe?  There where some matches I played in it that people complained it was OP at teir IV.

Teir III I agree the St Louis is a beast.

Hipper. Best performance, achievable tier... no brainer. Atago is a close second.

 

It's probably just me, but I felt that the Hipper is overrated. When I played through it, I was underwhelmed because I just kept hearing how people praised the ship, whereas its glass armor caused me to take so much damage. Roon changed everything since I got Repair Party, and the T8-10 German CAs play like BBs. Without an ability to repair, Hipper was underwhelming.
