...that the hideous candy stripe camo is gone for good?  I don't see it as an option for any of the ships it was offered as 'permanent' camo for.  I have Type 3 "Ranked" camo now that is infinitely more appealing to the eye than the Willy Wonka scheme from the holidays.

Anyone know?

Hopefully we will finally start to see some more historically accurate permanent camo options.

Examples

WG, I've got a number of ships whom I'd happily drop some doubloons on permanent camo for, as long as it's a more appealing pattern than that hideous candy cane wrapper. :coin:

There is an Aslains mod that has some historical skins. But only a fraction of the ships.  Historical camo would be a nice refinement.

Doom, some of those historical camo schemes are pretty hideous themselves.   Particularly the very first one in that examples link.  My god, that's hideous.    And the 3rd one down isn't a whole lot better.

As for the permanent camo, regardless of the pattern itself, a problem I have with them is that the perma-camo is all based off of the reduced chance to hit camo, not the reduced concealment camo.  What if you wanted perma-camo for a DD for whom you'd want reduced concealment camo?  They should either have a separate perma-camo that's of the reduced concealment variety, or maybe combine the reduced chance to hit and the reduced concealment camos in a single perma-camo for simplicity's sake.

Yeah, I use some of the historical flags from there that we'll never see in game due to various legal/political concerns.

What I'm wanting is a more historical pattern for the type of permanent premium camo that can be seen by others and comes with slight concealment, accuracy, or earning benefits.

Still saw some Cheatlands with them in matches yesterday, but I know it's not buyable any more.

I thought only the availability was removed and that those that bought it still have it. Just muting the colors on those to black & white with some blue like the type 3 camo we got from Project R would make them semi historical.

The camo still exists to be used, but it can't be bought for now. I've used up all of mine, but it would be fairly amusing to see it on something in July.

I am waiting until July to use mine lol. I have almost 80 of them (secret Santa), but I am not in a rush to grind up the trees. Maybe when RN or Russian cruisers get added I will use some of them up.

i use it on any occasion

used some from the secret satan thing for hatsuharu

i don't recall but iirc i still had some and used it either for nicholas or for farragut

then i definitely used some from the event for mahan, for training a new captain for udaloi with izyaslav and then since i am not planning to grind xp for anything else right now (have to slowly build money for tier 9 and possibly 10) i used my last 5 type #3 camos from the week #2 chest simply to get more free xp from papa papa flags with tash-chan (i suppose it helps... anyway it trained her captain and udaloi isn't unlocked too)

This true and what was listed in patch notes.  I'm all about permanent camo, but not some weird Christmas present ridiculous scheme.

I've got some 70~ Type 3 Xmas camouflage consumables sitting in depot.  And now, also the Ranked versions given by the current pearl event.

Going to use it on German BB's, IRN Cruisers. While the first daily win x2 on my ships are available.
