Matchmaking is GARBAGE

This games match making is utter s***. 5 games in a row my T3 ship has been placed in a T5 match. Not a "oh look 1 T5 ship." We are talking full out T5+ matches. Its not just one ship either. My T4 ship, isn't even fully upgraded yet, and its being placed against T6 ships. I just had my Wyoming in a match where the other team had all T6 ships. So much fun when you can't get in range to shoot anything. If this was once in a blue moon. Fine no problem, but it has been every single match today and yesterday.

T6 ships are the worst for it.  I'm constantly thrown into T8 battles.  Nothing like constantly getting one shot by T8 BBs to make you go do something else.

+2/-2 is normal. Nothing broken about it.

I'm thinking of retiring my Nurnberg post-ARP and moving the captain back to the Koni. The MM seems much more fair with a T5. Although I like the Nurn better, it's always up against Tirpitzes (Tirpites?) and Mogamis. At least in the Koni I see less T7s than I see T8s in the Nurn.

Its very broken. Ships that have 0 AA and can't turn, being hit by torp planes that can drop on top of you zero arming distance. Being 1 shot by BBs and killed by Cruisers before you can get close enough to even fire back. Doesn't even matter the class of ship you chose, when you guns have sometimes 1/2 the distance of your opponents. They need to lock it in at +/- 1, with the +1 only being if your ship is maxed.

MM is based on skills and ships available. I have good skills (not everyone agrees) but often end up in missions where I am the only lvl V ship or even lvl VIII ship out of 24 ships in the mix. I usually start off saying I'm screwed, ad do my best, then yell out 'bot users' in open chat.

There are several peer groups in WoWS.

1st Newbies, which you sound like,

2nd Beta testers, I came in near the end of Beta testing but still fall into the group.

3rd Alpha testers, they started the play of WoWS and most have unique ships for it and Captains of Tier 5 or all skills. When they play it is so difficult to achieve mission successes.

They should really stay out of lower lvl missions but they do not. I think most cannot read or write, just push buttons.

You WILL be faced with this scenario for the duration of your WoWS career (which looks to be a short one).  You must learn to play to the strengths and limitations of your ship.

If you don't have the range, firepower, or armor to take on the top battleships one v. one, then go beat up on some cruisers.  Or follow you top BB's and take shots at the BB's that are busy engaging your top BB's, or ward off other ships that are trying to engage them.

You are following a well worn path.  Obviously, others have been where you are, and have succeeded.

TIRPITZ A T8 can be sunk by a TVI Nurnberg, I have actually done it.

What about the CBTers? Open Beta is not the same as Closed Beta.

Sort of off topic here but my main beef with MM is the targeting of certain players or their ships. I have yet to go into a Mission where I am pitted 1 vs 1. I am usually fighting off 4-6 ships because I am so well like ROFLMAO that was funny.

But as others have said use your ships strengths and ability for you. If I get a 2 vs 1 and Im in a BB I ignore the CA' escort and hamer the BB only. I usually get 2 kills before I'm done in.

So USMC_FMF until your as loved as I am you have to adjust.

Are not they the Alpha testers or is that an entire different group. Closed Beta was prior to open beta hence the Alpha tester I may have used wrong verbiage Sorry.

Yeah, np.

The procession was as follows:

1. Alpha Testing

2. Closed Beta Testing (CBT)

3. Open Beta Testing (OBT/Soft Release)

4. Release

The closed beta is kind of the middle child between Alpha and Release/OBT.

I remember killing an Iowa in my Cleveland back when it was +-3.... the guy was pissed, but MM now is so nice, 2 tiers isn't all that much is you play smart

Dude, Atlanta v. Iowa. That was an exciting battle.

Overcome adapt improvise. Perhaps your name is fake?

Seriously play with you capabilities and limitations in mind. Think on your tactics. Mitigate your fears exploit your advantages. You are never useless in battle. The tier difference in this game is minimal.

I play the same MM you do and do not cry about it I revel in it. It is just another opportunity to excel. The tier spread provides variety of gameplay experiences. You think it is crap but trust me you do not want to dumb the game down any more than it has been.

I had 2 matches in my Izyaslav last night where they were 4/5/6 matches with ... ONE t4  DD on each side and the rest T5 and T6.  No divisions making skewing MM either.  In one case it was myself opposite another Izy on 2 Brothers and the other a Clemson on Ocean, but either way just put no DDs in the match rather than turning some folks into cannon fodder.  Oddly there seemed to be too few DDs playing as in both those cases there were only 2 DDs per side.

Yes I know how the mechanics of MM work but really that sort of MM is unnecessary with 14 000 people on in prime time.
