Buying ships

Seems like this should be a simple question that should be explained somewhere. Have not found it on the forum. The FAQ or the training videos.

Seems sometimes I can buy ships and other times not.

Why not make it simple and just buy a ship instead of research it first. But so be it, I know you have to Research it first.

But like today it said I have 11 784 242 exchange credits. The tier VI ship research price is 20 800. But it still said I need 17933.

Is the game really that bad at math or am I missing something.

Again seems like the simple rules should be easy to find.

Thanks

Exchange credits? Also, there's the XP too, you'll need to grind out around 20.8k XP. So needing 17.9k XP left is fine, you can't buy a ship without researching it first.

^ you have to grind up the lines. There is no out right buying of ships. Kinda to prevent people from playing at tiers they arent prepared for.

Exchange credits (money) isnt the same as research cost (xp earned on that ship to progress to the next)

Your post is a little confusing...You talk about credits, and then ask why you don't have enough xp to research.

The trees are vertical, one ship must be researched and upgraded using XP before you can start on the next....

Not sure how you would get near Tier 6 and not understand how it works...

You are correct that the game does a poor job of explaining the difference between credits, research points, and doubloons.  They each have a name, but the bottom line is we are working with THREE "monetary" systems.

1.  Experience

1a. Associated with a specific ship.

1b. Free - can be applied to any ship.

2.  Credits (the silver pieces).

3.  Doubloons (the gold pieces).

As you play the game, you will gain experience and credits.  Most experience is 1a, but you will get a little bit of 1b.  You will also get credits.

Research with Experience:  1a is used to "research" upgrades on the associated ship or to research the next tier ship.  You can use 1b experience for any ship.

Buy with Credits:  Once an upgrade or tier is Researched, you then must buy it with with credits.

Doubloons are the "in game" incarnation of real money.  Doubloons can be used to exchange 1a experience to 1b experience.  Remember, 1a is tied to a specific ship.  1b can be used on any ship.  Doubloons can also be used to acquire credits.

In your example, the 20 800  is the experience cost (1a and/or 1b) to research the Tier 6.  Your 11 784 242 are your credits (2).

OMG...

Very simple, succinct and we'll written.

+1.

Only thing I would possibly add.....

You do not need to purchase upgrades with 2, once researched , to use 1a or 1b to research next tier ship.

A moderator needs to pin that response in beginners guide.

Hello guys could somebody tell me what the best ship for e beginner ist to grind faster at the start (i mean only ships that you can buy with real money (premium ships))

I'd say Murmansk, but that assumes that you like game play of a CL. Otherwise, I'd suggest using premium time until you get more experience with the game.
