So many rants about things being OP, So many rants about anime specifically.

Seriously every time I see a thread about something being OP or is anime related it keeps reminding me of something like this.

This forum is kindergarten compared to the WoT forum which in turn is kindergarten compared to most other game forums. Flames and the wars that come with them are part and parcel in forum life.

Thing is, WoT wasn't like that from the get-go. WoWS went straight down like this in like half a year's time.

...at least it goes to show that the game still got population...

Welcome to a cold-text-on-a-screen forum belonging to a free-to-play online game, where anyone can participate in total anonymity, without accountability unless they start accusing people of being child molesters. Where egos run rampant, and the presence of a few different colored pixels are reason to launch into foaming-at-the-mouth tirades and the only two requirements for participation are "has internet" and "has a moderate command of the english language". And sometimes that second one seems optional.

I hear screams of fallen souls, sad cries of agony within the void of this evil hole, deep inside the black. Hell? No, online gaming communities.

Pretty simple OP.

Get enough people together and at some point they will disagree about something. Whether it's adding cartoons to games that try and keep things in historical context( even naval action has some of this on their forum lol) to whether something is a little hard for them to kill. People going to do what they do especially if they can hide behind a computer to do it.

Gaming companies create toxicity when they handle their users poorly. Whenever you see a hostile environment on a game forum, look to the pattern of communication and responsiveness on the part of the creator.

Game companies seem to think that there's this incredible need for secrecy. One full-time employee whose job it is to collect the relevant information and disseminate it to players would erode a great deal of ill-will.

Hell is the impossibility of reason.

That is what this place feels like these days, hell.

I hate it already and it's only been a year since Closed beta was launched.

Some goddamn year grandma.

(yes I paraphrased Platoon)

Maybe if the game had some semblance of balance people would have less to complain about?

No matter.  Players will complain about balance regardless. Never happy.  NEVER

Bro even when torpedoes were so bad that all DDs were heavily underperforming, everyday like 3-5 threads about how DDs/torpedoes were OP :D

Yes because all players ever have the exact same idea of balance and the exact same amount of understanding regarding balance. That's why we have "<X> OP PLS NERF" and "<X> UP PLS BUFF" treads coexisting side by side.

Welcome to the future, well present also, of gaming. Kids grow up with target indicators, flashing lights when you swing your sword, and all that...so thats what they like. Personally I prefer hardcore sims, but not too many are made anymore.

You know ww2 genre = no target indicators (well, minimal assists because a PC cant render as well as reality)

Swing your sword into a viking = no big blue and red swoosh animation and spin-o-rama like some damn movie.

tab targeting = just no never.

Have played 2 free to play WG's.  They start nice but then cometh the angry, the keyboard warriors, the huddled masses yearning to be disgruntled....yearning to b#tch. The trolls. I do think we got more WoT players over here now and some have brought their adolescent mentality along. This game and forum was nice when I joined when it was new but things tend to go downhill.  Goes with the territory I do reckon. Our rude and crude culture today is reflected in these games.  No surprise. It should come as NO surprise. :(

Could not agree more.  Lotta players want more warnings, bells, buzzers, various assists, etc. Anything to make the game easier and even more arcade.  Whenever I challenge those suggestions I get flamed by this crowd and I challenge this stuff a lot.  Hell I could use some crazy stuff to make me a better player but I like a challenge.

This is why I keep IL-2 and Rise of Flight installed on my computer. More civilized simulations, from a more civilized time.

Rise of Flight was only good for singleplayer. They screwed the pooch on flight models and has a significant Entente bias. Turned more into who could get the best joystick profile and find the sweet-spot of fuel load to turn you into an F22 compared to everyone else. But I digress.

Most of the Anime related threads are just full of hate, I mean seriously.. if someone hates Anime that much, one would think they would avoid talking about it.

kinda hard when anime lovers post it everywhere.

Really hoping Naval Action sticks with the realism aspect.  Not go down the road so many others games seem to.
