I am a history buff.

I come from a simulation background as far as PC games goes,  Arma, IL2 Sturmovik, and Silent Hunter IV.

I wish the game were a lot more historical, but it is what it is, and it's the only surface warfare game in town.

I am here due the deterministic causal chain of events that began at the dawn of time.  I had no option.  There is no such thing as free will.  1 event leads to another.  The notion that we have any control is rubbish.

I've been interested in obsessed with the naval aspect of WWII since I was a kid.

I have wanted a game like this for... years.

Useless survey!

Useless response.

Though the survey is barebones and missing many possible options.

Question #1: I am here because I wanted a tactical arena shooter at a pace my aging mind can still follow. I played WoT for five years and was happy to migrate to WoWS, though this game is sorely lacking in content and basic features (like proper replay support and basic clan functionality)

Question #2: I've been a fan of history and of anime (and in broader terms animated as well as live action entertainment) for as long as I can remember.

I was an anime fan and general online gamer first. Never cared for warships or any other type of military games. I originally came here because I stumbled upon a WoWS giveaway that had both an invite code and a bonus code. Both of them together gave 7 days premium, 1,000 doubloons, 1 mil credits, and an Aurora + port slot. I felt it was a beefy giveaway and after watching a few youtube vids on it I thought I might as well give it a shot. At the very least I'd get a week out of it for free if I ended up hating it. Ended up liking the gameplay enough that I stayed and even bought a few ships and some premium time.

So while I can't say that I came here because of the anime content/community, I can say that it's definitely a major factor in my sticking around and even spending some cash. Having two things that I like coming together like this has been fantastic.

Since this is NOT a historically accurate game, it is an arcade/sim game, I imagine it is a bit frustrating for the historical buffs.  To balance a game, historical accuracy has to go out the window on a lot of things.

Truthfully, it has a long way to go to be balanced.  I cannot imagine how the T6 cruiser with the least life also has the least armor.  A slightly higher rate of fire does nothing to make up for the quick deaths that occur because of small HP pool and low armor rating that means lots of citadel hits.  Honestly, the historically accurate armor on the T6 German cruiser ( Nuremberg), makes it an easy kill for anything T5 and up, T4s can also penn to a citadel at will.  It is not a lot of fun to play and being accurate makes the game less fun and less balanced.

I'm mostly for the history, but the added anime community and aspects to the game makes it more diverse and interesting in my opinion. The internet is a kooky place anyways.

I know a few things about Naval History, though I wouldn't call myself a expert at it, and I do have a love for Anime, so a mix of both is nice, also I've been itching for a good naval game, and this game brought me it, I've stayed here since from a combination of Anime, Naval love, and a addiction to forum posting.

yep and what's really sad is some of the models have rust on them. I toon with a former navy man and he swears that that's something you'll never find.
