Is it against the rules to try and throw games by yolo suiciding?

Why would you want to?

There are times where Ive given up after half the team is dead and I do ask to be killed faster... but my guns are still active.

If someone is bad/dumb enough to make this a regular occurrence, it's probably not a big loss to the team anyway.  The team was basically down one ship the moment this player loaded in.

From what I've seen and read no, It appears to be one of those things that the community frowns apon but not against the rules.  Most of the yolo suiciding tends to only really happen anyways in one sided matches, like a 3v3 tier 10 match with one side having two CV's and the other having one. In normal match ups losing a ship isn't a big deal, you can still easily turn the tide being down one ship.

At tier 10 though you could pretty much force a loss for your team every game by doing it with a carrier.

The real issue might be a question of Honor and Trust when the players still fighting see your name again.

I would prefer hearing, "you know they might not be a good player but at least they try"

You could, but at the same time you are hemorrhaging credits. Why grind to the most expensive ship in the game just to ruin not only everyone's fun but all your credits?

Still don't see it as being a rule violation but it is a d*ck move.

Because if you're a troll with money, and they are out there, you have the power to decide every tier 10 game you're in.

In my DDs, it often just looks like suicide, but it's not. Sometimes I do want to be aggressive, and get into the action quickly. If I can a sink a bigger ship in my quick blaze of glory, I think I've not harmed the team. Sometimes I don't have much time to play, sometimes I just play badly. Plus in my irrational exuberance, I usually illuminate much of the enemy fleet, right before they perforate me, so I've accomplished my scouting goal. Then again, I'm only on T5, so y'all might not care.

There is a difference I think to yoloing into the enemy team....

On one hand, I'd be ok with it if they ended up doing a hella ton of damage, or even brought one of the enemy with them to Davy Jones' locker

On the other hand, if they yolo and do barely anything....no damage or barely any at all, than I'd probably be a little annoyed, but only in the higher tiers where winning is more important due to high repair costs.

HOWEVER. The only exception to those rules is, if that player is in a Mikasa. That ship is pretty the definition to a yolo ship, knife fighter ship. You can pretty much yolo all you want in that ship and come out on top most of the time against equal tiered cruisers. I should know, I do it all the time in my Mikasa. =D

What brought this thread about?

Being on a tier 10 team where our carrier sniped theirs at the beginning made me think about it.  An unopposed tier 10 carrier is almost a guaranteed win.

Yolo suicide and carrier sniping aren't the same thing... but like stated, its a [edited]move but you get nothing for it.

It's against the rules to intentionally throw a game, yes.

No crap.  That's just what made me think of how devastating a tier 10 carrier troll would be.  Imagine if he just sailed right at the enemy every game and never launched planes.  Unless there was another troll carrier, he would decide every game.

I edited my post a bit from this, but it would get the carrier nowhere. other than  300k repair bill. Having money or not, you can only do that for so long. 0exp gains and 300 credit losses are something 90% of the game doesn't want, so there is a particularly small chance of this.

The same thing could be said about a yamato going full broadside to the enemies bb's in a game with 2-3 bbs per team. You could easily say hes throwing the game and leaving his team to deal with the enemy, but again, most don't want the loss.

Their are rules?

WG ignores TKers until enough players complain...the automated system does nothing to fix the issue.

The rules are whatever WG feels like that day...

I'm sure there are people here that can write a book on "Effective Yoloing in WoWS: How to Maximize Credit Earnings over Time Spent in Battle"

If you can put a lot if hurt on the enemy in a short amount of time early in the game, allowing you do gain credits and XP quickly then move on to the next game in another ship, is it actually a win-win for that player and the team?  Could be...though in this case the person isn't trying to throw the game, per se.

Never underestimate trolls.  There are people that buy premium ships just to troll.

The impact of any other ship is nothing like losing your carrier early at tier 10.

Of course there are, but what do you see more, trolls, or people complaining that you aren't doing enough to win/causing the loss?

And it can depend on the enemy CV, if they are good and your cruisers all leave, sure, they can easily force a win.

Not against the rules.

Since we don't have anything for spotting like in WoT, there is little benefits for charging up there to die without firing a shot. If someone go yolo, they better hit something good before death.
