regenerating hulls?

I've seen a couple videos, plus the reward screen that shows your rewards, including receiving damage equal to 120% of your hit points suggest some ships regain hp...is this true? And what ships?

Both pmgaudio and Legendary Typo are correct.

 

All Battleships of all tiers and Cruisers Tier 9 and 10 as well as the IJN Atago.

There are some caveats to the skill.  If you don't learn them, you'll end up wasting the skill if you ever captain a ship with the ability.  Here's a quick summary.  There's a better guide somewhere else.

 

Rule 1: Certain types of damage allow you to regenerate different amounts of hp

Light damage = fires / flooding = 100%

Medium damage = shell hits / torpedoes = 33% (I think)

Heavy damage = citadels = 10%.  Special exceptions like the Warspite or high-tier cruisers allow more.

 

Rule 2: Your regen repairs a certain amount of damage within a set time limit.

 

For max efficiency, make sure the collected damage is higher than your regen amount.  But if you're in danger, don't hesitate to pop it or else you won't have enough hp to keep yourself going.

I love watching players, especially on my team, who wait until the very last second to use their repairs. And then die to the next salvo. Constantly being smashed with HE and AP an entire match, they got like 1K health left, they slam their repair....and someone just snipes them with a single shot.

 

Nothing makes me rage more then following a bb around, knowing he hasn't popped any of his repairs, seeing him drop to a sliver of life, try to repair then, and die.

I may be wrong but that ability also has a lengthy cooldown so, like Aether_tech stated/hinted, DO NOT leave this for the last possible moment. I would normally pop it once around 50% or so. That way, if in the course of events I am hit again I may have the consumable available again. This was my first shiny medal! :) 

 

EDIT: Now... if only the wife came with that consumable, I'd be set! POOF! Brand new wifey!
