At 1700 health - instantly die to flooding. Something seems wrong.

Alive one frame, dead to "nothing" one frame later - 1700 hp. And no, it wasn't the dive bombers, or the enemy myogi that killed me. The other enemy battleship is down at our cap.

 

Replay was slowed down by one level.

 

 

free cam - it wasn't the dive bombers.

Something, is very fishy about that.  Even two or three floods (got hit by three torpedoes, one nose, two belt) wouldn't kill me that fast.

You got DBd by the carrier. Watch about 15 seconds on you see them coming to attack and then 2 explosions in your ship.

 

Specifically look at 18 seconds, those drop bombers are basically over you.

Agreed you were divebombed while flooding.  You would've died from flooding even if they didn't hit you, though...

You got DBd by the carrier. Watch about 15 seconds on you see them coming to attack and then 2 explosions in your ship.

 

Specifically look at 18 seconds, those drop bombers are basically over you. 

 

Whenever I've been hit by dive bombers that killed me, it shows the light/medium/heavy damage. Such as a previous game were a dive bomber killed my konigsberg, it showed "moderate damage" as I died.

 

In this case, there is none of that. The dive bombers had not yet started their final attack run. I'll double check the replay with free cam, but I'm pretty sure on it.

Maybe explosion flash screwed up the text, it is red after all. You can see the two DB bombs go off on your superstructure and deck though. I would know, DBs love targeting DDs first lol

Got freecam on it, i died right before bombers started their run. encoding and uploading it now.

It would also be good just to upload the replay itself too. DBs bombs hit the water before they start their animation (I see this in my Zuiho myself) and would be nice to see if maybe it was that

Right before the DBs vanish from the top of the screen, you can definitely see them clump up, which means they're preparing an attack run.

Actually, today I was in a battle with my Kongo and the same exact thing happened to me. I was flooding but nothing else... waiting for repair to reset for another reuse while pushing the attack. All of a sudden, I'm dead... think I had 2K to 3K of HP remaining. 

 

I asked the enemy carrier how he killed me and he said, "Fire?" He didn't know. It wasn't fire, no torps, no db's, no gunfire, nothing. Just BOOM you're dead.

It seems like a Lag-issue, probably server-side considering your Ping and FPS remaining steady throughout.

though..It makes me wonder.

This isn't the first time I've died to similar 1-3k health "sudden death" things while in my battleships or bigger cruisers. I usually just dismissed it as bad luck and me not carefully watching my health to see when I blew up, but this one REALLY stood out at me. 1. I was watching my health, seeing how my repair was keeping up with it before it ticked off. Two, i was frantically trying to get one last shell or two at the enemy myogi for an extra few points of damage, when I noticed that i was at about 2k health, then 1.7....then....dead? I saw the bombers coming in, so that was my first thought. Then I noticed a lack of "damage" sustained text popping up.

2 or 3 of his bombs hit.

 

There is a splash right next to your ship.

After I died. In the below picture, frame 92 is just before I "die." Frame 93 is the "blur" of death. And 94 is me dead. Four frames later, is when the "bomb" splash can be seen in the water.

Bomb and shell splashes and explosions are often animated after they hit.

Which is strange, because I always take damage when they hit me - but ALWAYS when the bombers are IN the dive - not before it.

The first frame of an explosion probably isn't even an explosion, since it has to grow into an explosion.

There's "dead because dive bombers got me." And there's "dead before the dive bombers got me, before they started their dive - which I know is a requirement to actually dive bomb someone."

 

I've gone over this replay in slow mo, freecam, and freelook, and I die before the dive bombers are in their attack run. Just as I die, they appear to go into it, but then turn away and fly back. So that's either an absurd graphical error, or, the flooding "somehow" killed me with a 3-4x damage boost.  I'm tempted to go back and do a frame to frame flooding damage count.

It's part of some time, space continuim, science stuff. Shells and torpedoes can travel so fast their atoms break through reality which causes them to pass through solid objects like they weren't there.

 

The second theory is the world we live is a lie, it is a program made up by space aliens or whatever.
