What's the point of TireX CV tech research???

well, i tried to go co-op, but failed. BOTS AT MY SIDE ALWAYS LOSE AND I MUST 1V4.

It is impossible to use a new born Hakuryu against Midway... isn't it...

and I guess it is because there's not many players early in the morning to help me against bots??

and I'm particularly curious about the reason of having this Tire X research.

These are totally different from my shimakaze's 15km/20km torpedoes.

In my opinion, this research is pointless...

Hang on... how is he facing a different CV in co-op? It's always mirrored. And unless I'm mistaken, you can't have more than 1 CV per team in co-op.

I had accumulated roughly 96k free xp when I got my Midway. I instantly free xp'ed the strike deck, fighters, and torpedo bombers. Leaving me with 24k free xp, enough to free xp the dive bombers as well but I figured I'd rather have free xp for other stuff. I can get away with tier 9 dive bombers since they currently aren't equivalent to torpedo bombers, nor do they get selected for AA fire manually like torpedo bombers.

I didn't lose air war...

I usually use 2 rounds to sink enemy Hakuryu.

AND AT THIS TIME, MY TEAMMATES ALL DIED.

It sucks, doesn't it?  It's not just the XP, it's also the credit cost for each upgrade. I still haven't bothered to spend the 2 million required for DB upgrade. 

 

I tried some some coop but always got a team full of DDs and that stunk too.  My Hak stats have not recovered from me playing a tier 9 CV against fully loaded tier 10s while grinding those upgrades, and now I virtually don't play it at all due to the que times.

Ya its kind of [edited]that CV has to do another wave of research on their aircraft. BB and CA don't have to research anything and DD only have to research torpedoes for 30 000 xp the Hakuryu and Midway should get their top aircraft with out having to pay for them and the price of the two deck modules should be at the very least halved from 30 000 xp each to 15 000 xp each to bring it in line with being the same cost of DD torpedoes. Right now after getting tier 10 you then need another 96 000 xp to get you aircraft upgraded and what ever your meta deck is 96 000, 126 000xp total for full research.

Why are you going after the CV?

I am always a little off on this point but  follow me here.

Their planes come over your ships, so AA and fighters can shoot them down over friendly team mates, no need to go after a CV for aircraft.

A CV cannot intentionally shoot at ships and is not a "threat"

So if you go after a CV it takes you like 3-4 minutes to fly there and back and if you did it twice you took 8-10 minutes to sink a CV maybe.

But if in the same amount of time you kept your air wing over your fleet you,

might have made 3-5 attacks and sunk a Cruiser or two, a BB or at least dealt fires and damage to the ships, allowing your team to sink more, and assist in a overall winning plan.

you cycle times are shorter and your team feels covered and assisted making for a better overall atmosphere.

And the biggest of all, your team mates may have lived.

lol dude.... How many matches and XP does it take after spending 21 million credits to fully upgrade the best BB in the game?

I guess if you want to get a fully upgraded best BB in the game at tier X one should go up the IJN BB line, not the CV line.........if this is so important to someone.   I just don't see why having to get this xp to fully upgraded a tier X CV is such a big deal, or wasn't until WG in their wisdom did stuff to make it a long wait for a tier X CV match.

10 Matches try 57. Couple that with the long wait for a battle in a higher tier CV. It take quite a bit of time unless you have the free xp to bypass it.

I used to try to sink their CV first because torpedo bombers and dive bombers can do huge damage; however it's much easier to pick off CAs and BBs while using your fighters to melt their planes.

I agree with you with my heart. And I do this all the time with my taihou.

 

but enemy essex ALWAYS spends 3+ rounds to destroy my game experience.

agreed....which is why using free xp to upgrade them makes a lot of sense imo.
