...but you didn't. Kill stealing doesn't exist. What does exist is crying. Crying like a self absorbed little brat in chat.

I whole heartedly apologize. I forgot this is a forum, where discussions regarding aspects of the game (player behavior) are discouraged.

There actually is kill stealing. Its subjective.  If a player holds their fire with the intent to try and get the last hit, its kill stealing.

Difficult to prove though without a polygraph or at least some blatent video footage.

but no, simply getting the last hit is not kill stealing.

exactly, no such thing as kill stealing; however, there is such a thing as RNGesus deciding that the ship you would have destroyed otherwise will escape with 3hp. Yeah, this actually happened to me twice yesterday in my North Carolina and it was a very frustrating scenario.

The only time it's even a THING is when one requests that they be allowed a 5th kill or multiple members of the team point out X player is at 4 kills - let them get that final one.

Nope, nope. Can't have that now. D-bags gonna be all k-block'n 'n stuff.

(even if it's a guaranteed loss I've told the enemy team to let <player> get final hit. Why not?)

I half agree.

Maybe it's because of my play style and my habit of getting fixated on the toughest ships on my side of the map and hunting them down like they knocked up my sister and ran but if I death 60K damage to a Tirpitz, have her lined up with a partial broadside, my shots being half a second away when some [edited][edited]saps that final bit of health that I waited 30 seconds to claim- yeah I personally get a little miffed.

However that being said I did claim most of the silver and XP to be made from that ship, just no recognition of my efforts until after the match-and only I can see it then

The faster a target is dead, the better. Doesn't matter who gets the kill. Move to the next mission and repeat.

Here the scenario I often met when I was still doing the killing DD misson:

I was in a dd blys 2/3 hp fighting against another 1/2 dd blys on the otherside of the enemy is an ally Benson. We all about 5km from each other. While both me and blys was shooting it out the Benson was just sailing close, holding his shot. I was still taking continual damage from the blys until about 500 hp left. Then when the enemy blys about to die, the Benson fired and took the kill

I don't mind the ally kill secured during full engagement, but that example is text book kill stealing [edited]move

Tell me you call that legit

Sorry but when someone on your team has 3 or 4 kills but ranks low in the xp  either they are the worst/luckiest shots in the game or they are hanging back waiting to finish off a target that others have beaten down. No big deal during normal play but when kills are needed to achieve a goal then its a problem

Yes, but when someone else comes in and finishes off something you were looking forward to having the satisfaction of completing, you have to admit it can be irritating

If you have 3 people shooting one guy and someone goes 'my kill' then he needs help....or to go back to highschool.

Never cared much about it.  I enjoy seeing a nice hit taking 15k of damage or more from the enemy warship.  :izmena:

Many times if I know a lot of people are shooting at a ship which is low on HP, I'll hold my shot and look for another target which is higher health.  Don't like wasting a full salvo from a BB on a target which has less than 1k of health.

I may come around a corner and pound a ship you have been working on and you may finish off one I have been working on

it all evens out in the long run to me.

^^ Both of these. I don't even bother if target is critical low health, and other friendlies in area, especially if I know friendlies have it targeted.

FYI: The kill that I "stole" was done by my secondary's. (edit) which made it ALL the more glorious.

Absolutely right. I am happy to get the credit - or not -but all of 'em are the team's kill.

I like to see VICTORY pop up at the end of a match. I totally don't give a damn who kills the ships.  I have many games where I have been in the top 3 in damage without a kill but the damage I did set a ship up for someone else to kill. That is fine with me. Team game....it's not about who gets the most kills it's about victory anyway it can be accomplished.

I got accused of kill stealing a few days after the appreggio missions were first started.

I was playing normally and I just happened to be the one getting the kills. I was not holding my shot just shooting in turn. I don't recall the situation perfectly, but at least one of the kills had something like 10K health left and I got a good broadside to finish the target. This then lead to me being told I'm a kill stealer, I honestly thought the guy was joking so I just replied with "Affirmative". The butthurt the player experienced after that will be felt by his grand kids :child:

Kill stealing has become more of an issue for people now that the missions encourage kills. We need assisted kills to be scored and also to count towards these missions and this problem should be minimized.

In fact if this has not been suggested in a forum somewhere for review by the community I will do so later today

yup, if you go into a match shooting everything with HPs, regardless of health, its not kill stealing.

here's why.  You can't trust your team to actually kill the target. The target may be close to a cooldown, a reload, or a torp launch.  One more salvo from the target could set a fire, cit and friendly.  The faster a target is killed, the faster the team can switch to the next target or react to map developments.

The chips will fall eventually and you will get kills.

If I do 12,000 damage to a enemy DD and you knock off the final 500 without previously having fired at him - and I needed that DD for a certain ARP event; you can bet your pants I'm going to be pissed.

Assists can go a long way in showing who is really doing the fighting and laying down the damage. Setting up ships for easy kills by others.  I agree with you that it would be nice to have that stat in the game.
