Poll: Pound-for-pound best German cruisers!!!

Thanks MeatSim_ for posting an awesome US/Japan cruiser poll last year (http://forum.worldofwarships.com/index.php?/topic/46069-pound-for-pound-best-cruisers/)! Since we don't seem to have a German cruiser poll yet, I'm making one! Vote, post, and discuss which is your favorite German cruiser!!!

Have just got the Konigsberg......and have to say, am very impressed.

 

Second match out......13 citadels, confederate and high caliber(not something I expect to see again for a VERY long time).

 

And all completely stock.

all of them are good if you don't get shoot at because first volley that you will get will break half of the ship

 

I am at Roon and till now from all of them i Liked only the Yorck , the rest of them are to fragile and they have almost absolute no armor but they can hit like a truck with ap ,

1 trought 4. the dresden was the only that i liked. the rest sucked

 

Tiers 5-9.

koenigsberg , it can be the best T5 cruiser if the Murmansk wasn't around the game and if the modules didn't not break that easy

 

Nurnebrg , it can kill any cruisers with 3-4 AP volleys untill T8 but first volley that you will get on you be sure that you have the repair party ready

 

Yorck , the first ship that dosen't break when you get shoot at and it hits like a semi truck. now with the decent turret speeds it's a t7 monster that can do 10k volleys on battleships with AP if you manage to get the arc of the guns right and it starts fires like is his job

 

Hipper , Hipper . well i love this ship but the armor man , oh good , the armor. Hashidate has more armor then this pile of floating rubber. if you don't get shoot in it you wll have a good game , it can citadel Zaos. north cal. nagato, amagi and if wou will not get a cidadel on a broadside battleship , the damage is incredibile with 15k volleys.

 

Roon , i didn't play much with it but at least the armor is better then the Hipper and my first volley from the Roon i got 2 citadels on a baltimore ,

just the 1 front turret can suck if you chase someone but if you run away it can do massive damage with AP and HE, turrets kinda slow but the ships is great , from my perspective the best t9 cruiser

Roon is a Hindenburg with minus 2 torp tubes and minus 1 turret

Voted for Konigsberg. Unsure if it's because it's a fantastic ship, or if it's just a capable ship after the agony of the Kolberg and Karlsruhe.

Nurnberg, AKA the faster-firing Konigsberg.  One of my favourite cruisers until I got the Aoba back.

I've had a great time with K'berg thru Yorck and looking forward to continuing on in the line. They really fine tuned the lessons learned in in IJN cruisers staring, for me, with the Furious Taco with a much juicier ROF. As long as I stay out of the front line, I have fun. I have come to accept that more often than not the game ends with a swim. Having said all that, if I'm in a different ship and spot one of them, it usually gets most of my attention.

any pollers that voted for Konigsberg play the ROON??

On paper it doesn't seem to have the numbers, but as a huge fan of the Koni, and Nurn, I played up the line on the test server, mostly to get Roon and Hindenberg play in, and I voted for Roon.... Decent armor and fantastic guns, and very accurate, still glass like but it is dam good, and I suspect that anyone that played a couple dozen games in it either on test server or got it lately and played it will agree, IMO, the best cruiser, perhaps in that "pound for pound" rating.. it at least ranks in in the top 3.. I have only played that line on the test server so I cannot speak for the Mogami, which I have heard is the king so.... I love my Aoba and still have to get to the Mogami (I do sort of like Myoko), I hear the NO aint all that, so....

But that is my take on my pick

voted for Roon, thing is a beast at T9 and I would guess doesn't cost as much to run with.

True story guys. Just in a match in my Atago and was sailing next to a Nuremberg. Who was complaining that the Nuremberg sucks, while sailing directly at a North Carolina. Ofcourse in my Atago, I quickly turn away because Atago vs NC, RUN AWAY!

 

But he quickly gets obliterated in a broadside by the NC and whines the Nuremberg sucks.  The amount of laughing when I explain this to everyone in the match was priceless.

My vote was the Roon. Those AP shells hit like a truck. Ive got cit hits on Iowas from almost 15k before. Also I love the turret placement (although it really depends on your play style). The Roon is honestly the first ship that I fear no other ship in. Shes even decent at ambushing the enemy with torps (followed by that beast AP volley) if you plan ahead. All around amazing ship!

Agreed. According to WarshipStats, Roon has the highest win rate of any German cruisers above Tier V.

Can confirm, I don't have the Roon but I've fought against some. They are absolutely terrifying.

 

Atago vs Ibuki or Baltimore? No problem, not worried. Roon? I'll just take a 12k damage volley through the stern at 13km.

For me, Yeah I have to say Roon is among the strongest, and unlike the other T9 cruisers, Roon actually feels competitive. She may be a little on the soft side in terms of armor, but she has High HP, which helps, and crazy powerful AP. Her stock configuration blows, but fully upgraded, she crushes Ibuki and baltimore. I think she has to be one of the only high tier cruisers, that I have played regularly that can actually hold her weight against equal tier battleships, which is incredibly rare for a high tier cruiser. I only just got hindenburg and haven't gotten Zao yet, but I've played all the other high tier cruisers

Still saving credit for my Hindenberg, I got a feeling I will definitely love her, since I'm already in love with my Roon, and Hindenberg is basically an upgrade version of Roon.

Yet vote for Roon, can't vote for something I haven't tried yet.

Nurnberg would be my second option. Well I know konigberg could do better in her tier but I find Nurnberg more challenging and satisfying.
