So I unlocked the ARP Kongo and ARP Myoko, but I noticed that they do not even show up unless I have the Yokosuka port enabled.

I thought I read somewhere that if you did not want o see the "skins" you could just enable a different port and they would not show up.

Yes, this is how its supposed to work. They are their own ships, if you want to see them, you have to be in the port.

I don't see the issue?

What he is saying is, the two ARP ships don't even show up at all unless Yokuska port is enabled.  They should be able to be used as Myoko and Kongo without the skins in any other port. Right now they cannot.

That is the issue. And WG said they would be able to be used as such.

Don't remember them saying this. They are counted as their own separate nation atm, which is only shown with that port.

This. What WG said / meant was that other people's ARP Kongou's and Myoukou's will show up as normal IJN ones if you don't have Yokosuka port enabled.

I thought that they could be used just as normal Myoko and Kongo. I guess Lert's explanation is correct. I misunderstood.

I think they said this because people thought all the myokos and kongos would look like this. As of now, if the player has the port disabled, it appears as a regular myoko in game. These will also only show up in the yokosuka port, and work as a cross between and elited and premium ship.

Ok, thanks for the clarification.   I thought if you had the ships and had a different port selected, you would still have the ship, just without the skin.

Now I know you have to have the port selected. thanks.

Oh hmmm... I thought this was by design. The player needs to have the anime port to use them. Other players also need to have that port in order to see the skins. I never thought you would be able to use them as a player and not have the anime port active.

I thought they would be able to use them without the port they would simply be in a normal port without the skins.  That was how I thought it was supposed to go, but I was wrong.

I unlocked one of these ships and couldn't find it in port line up of ships...

It's incomprehensible that you have to have a specific port to select the ship...

Moronic decision and not intuitive. WG strikes again. They probably thought they are being cute and let it make bad decisions. Good thing they come with a free port slot.

Two things:

1. The port wasn't because of wargaming, it was because of the backlash from the 'historical only' crowd.

2. They do not require, nor do they come with a slot, as they cannot be sold once they are earned.

You must have had your head in the sand when the ARP events launched. This system was implemented specifically so that players who do not want to see event ships in the game do not have to, and players that want to see them can do so. The mechanism to do that is the port selection. Very simple, nothing moronic about it.

What that means is you will not see the skins on other players using the ships. However you can not use them and not see them. So you either play them and see them or do not play them and do not see them.

If you still want to see them, you could use the Doge's Chinese Dragon Port.  It shows the ARP ships and ARP captains, but for some reason only uses IJN male commander voice (if using the National voice option).

However, you CANNOT use them without the ARP skins (or Characters) unless you mod that one yourself.  And you still CANNOT use regular IJN captains on them.  You CANNOT sell them either for a port slot or Credits.  They disappear if the Yokosuka port (or any custom port enabling their appearance) is not used.

They do show up as normal ships IN COMBAT if you have the port disabled, regardless if they're on your team or the enemy team, and the only time you'd know if you hit one is in the score results screen.
