I just started playing WoWS and am enjoying it.  I just was in one battle where a team member deliberately torpedoed me (this was not accidental - he stalked me).  So, does WoWS make renegades like that an outlaw like it does in World of Tanks (the player's icon turns blue)?

You can report him but WG doesn't care at all as far as anyone knows.

These turds are know as team killers (tk). Try to take a screenshot of their activity and make a complaint. Sadly this happens. Avoid getting in the pig pen with them. I find less of this in higher tier battles.

Every now and then you'll get a pink teammate. They are identified TKers. They have to behave themselves to return to normal color.

Before you get too giddy about team killers being pinked, you have to commit a few tk offenses before you're pinked, and even then it might take some time before the system automatically flags them as a loser.

The good news is that our excellent community managers here have made it clear they'll handle TK reports with greater verve since it's such a sore spot for people.

Advice: turn on your replays to have recordings of the event should this happen again.  If it does, file a ticket with support.  They won't tell you what becomes of the incident, but the effort isn't lost.  Increased visibility of clowns is a good thing.  The more often they are reported when you do this, the less likely it is they'll escape action.

It takes people reporting hostile action for the system to work.  While there will probably be many replies after my post saying the system doesn't work, it's because those people filed one report and expected the culprit to be hung by their toenails in the town square.  When that didn't happen, they decided the system doesn't work, so all they do is whine about it now.  Give the system a chance, because i assure you that WG is trying to keep the community a fun place to play.

Oh and i should mention that unlike tanks, if you see a pink ship on your team, you CANNOT shoot them without penalty.  If you shoot a teammate for any reason, including them shooting you, that counts toward your own progress of turning pink.

Record, report, move on.  Do not fire back or you're just as bad as they are, and your case against them got a whole lot weaker when you report it.

On one note, there is a way to turn on replay recording built into the coding of the game, it's a simple 'copy/paste this command' into a file sort of thing. Very useful when you want to report these twits. I've posted a link to it a few times if you want to check my posts but it's also an easy google search

edit: Derp, just saw batwingsix already linked it.

If you were in an Atago and had just torped a teammate 1 minute before that, then it was me.  DId he say something like, "There's your lesson in how not to use torps," afterward?

Tier 8 Premiums with torpedoes are a bad idea.

Hi BarnsBroadsides.

Thanks for your reply. No it was not you. I don't have an Atago yet.    And thanks to everyone else who educated me about renegades.  Cheers!

Doesn't matter if you're new, you can go buy an Atago in the gift shop right now, with no experience at all in using torps safely.  Hence my frustration with them.

I'm not saying every player in an Atago is bad though.  It was mostly during the 1st month of it's release that the team torping was out of control with the Atagos being the usual culprits.  Many good players buy it just because it's a good ship that earns credits, and many of those who were guilty at first have since learned.  I no longer want to quit every time I see a few Atagos on my team.

I was just torped twice, intentionally, by a guy called _Macdaddy.  When I asked him why, he said my DD wasn't moving fast enough to suit him.  Another joker called Adm_Fancyhat seemed to be backing him up.  What kind of teamplay is that?  My team ended up losing, at least partially because this happened.  Can anything be done?

 Report them.

I would also try to move s far as possible away from turds like that.   "Gee- sorry I couldn't help you with that group of CA's that had you flanked- I was wayyy over here bwahahaha"

People who team kill do so for a reaction.  It's what they want.  Don't give it to them.

I had a destroyer shadowing me yesterday.  Every once in a while he would fire a shot into me.  I ignored him.  A few shots later he said, "Shoot me back!"  I replied simply, "no."  He took off in the other direction.

Avoid the pink players.  If you are shot at, don't shoot back.  Take satisfaction in knowing you aren't giving them what they crave...your rage.

I've got to say, the whole 'team killer' business has really brought down my enjoyment of the game.  I'd been altogether looking forward to playing each day, but now... I wonder if I'm going to have to deal with some bugger who has decided that I'm not doing what he thinks I ought to and believes he has cause to torp me out of existence.  I mainly play DDs now, and after a long string of charging ahead and becoming the enemy's 'first blood' award, I may hang back a bit and see what part of the map I might be more useful in.  I want to get better at this game and I believe that I am getting better, little by little.  But being team killed by  nasty bastards has really taken some of the wind out of my sails.  I haven't the slightest idea about how to save replays, so if it happens again, I'll be in quite the same boat that I'm in now.  I would suggest, however, that when teammates hear they have a team killer onboard they should universally condemn him in chat and shame him as best they can.

Team killers are still pretty uncommon.  I see one once every hundred games or so.  I mostly play during the day or early evening, so maybe they are more common later at night.

Tara, search the forum for "enabling replays".  There is a video describing how to do it.  It is very easy.  If I can do it, anyone can!

I have had them activated since early to mid December.  I have only had to submit one replay to Support for a team killer.
