I've never played any of the World of... games. This is my first real MMO* type game or a free to play game that has this type business model. I joined 12/25/2015 and have fought in 504 battles. I am not good and probably never will be, but I'm cool with that.

I ran across a PhyDaly youtube video on the Gearing DD. My Dad served on several DDs, including the USS Cone DD-866, in which he spent time on the gun line in Vietnam as a #2 5in gun crewman and maintained/operated the QH-50B (DSN-2) Drone Anti-Submarine Helicopter (DASH). Its a fascinating machine, the first unmanned drone, way ahead of its time (link) (has stupid short midi song on website). I wanted to sail around in a Gearing so I signed up. When I saw how long it was going to take, I bought a $100 worth of doubloons and used part of it for the Atlanta. I have since bought the Bly (I hate/love sales of any kind lol)  and probably about to give them another $50 to get @200,000xp out of my Atlanta.

Which brings me to point 1. (finally)

I don't know whether to be angry or amazed at WG when it comes to premium ships. I played 215 battles in the Atlanta so I could have a level 5 Captain quicker (one reason I paid for it). I can't use that experience in the USN CA line! I paid them for the ship, and if I want that xp I have to pay them again. Don't seem right lol

Point 2

I've been called a wallet warrior, accused of not wanting to get my Golden ship scratched etc or seen comments in other threads like this

"Stats say he's a BB/Cruiser main. Once dabbled in DDs. Mainly grinds Tirpitz, although he didn't earn his way there as his highest non-premium BB is T4. Highest cruiser is T5."

Look I have the highest admiration for anyone who has grinded his way to the top without paying a cent. Especially after playing practically non-stop since Dec 25th and I am still really nowhere close to the top tiers of the USN, the one country I've been playing. But if I can be a little snippy here, I (the global I) am the reason you can play this game. I am the consumer that WG wants, a consumer with disposable income. You don't really matter to WG and without me(the global me)  you wouldn't have this game exist or continue to exist. So get off your high horse and give us wallet warriors some of the respect you seem to think you deserve for doing this game with no/little money. Plus I help pad your stats lol

* Shout out to J30_Reinhardt, the only other MMO game I played was Red Baron 2 3D. was J9~DeadMeat/ThailandExpress way back when if ya remember me at all lol. (and if your the same guy, but I'm sure you are)

Who cares, if you enjoy playing, you do what you want. Keeps the game free for those that want it, and you get to have fun.

Good luck out there!

Plus premium time/ships help ease the long grinds, what is wrong with that?

I won't spend a cent on World of Torpedoes until they fix their bad, broken game.

Don't seem right lol  You earn 5% free XP based on your total XP earned for the ship... the ship XP you earn goes towards that ship and you have to use gold to get it off, if it weren't like that, you would never see lower tiers as everyone would get an Atago and just work up to Tier 10 with it. Plus premium ships are for money making and captain training.

Highest cruiser is T5." You will catch flak for this since the lower tiers are where you learn the very basics. High tier gameplay is much harder due to ship firing ranges, detection, etc. Low tiers is where you learn how to aim, what ammo to use, and how to dodge shells and torpedo's. By instantly going to Tier 7 you are not only robbing yourself of useful experience, you are also handicapping your team with a member who may not be at the level of play required for the opponents you will meet. If you want to run a ship then run it, just know you may not be liked / respected because of the inexperience.

I got called a Wallet Warrior a few times because of my Warspite or Nicolai.

Turns out, a wallet is nothing compared to raw skill. Get my butt handed to me constantly by non-premium ships like the Cleveland, and the Isokaze.

"I've been called a wallet warrior, accused of not wanting to get my Golden ship scratched etc or seen comments in other threads like this"

If I might give some constructive criticism, that statement is probably from your Atlanta gameplay. Your statistics in terms of damage done in that ship aren't that gteat.

Your Cleveland stats also leave a lot to be desired. You have a good win rate, but poor average damage. I'm wondering what you are doing gameplay wise and if that is not the source of ire among some players.

Not to mention the Atlanta is EXTREMELY situational due to the lack of CV's at higher tiers. I have mine and once the CV population went away, it was moored in Mothballs. It is a floating citadel and has to be up close and personal to be effective.

Why assume that someone who is playing a reg ship doesn't pay money. I would venture that anyone who gets past T5 ends up on a prem account in short order.

The issue with the pay to win players or however they are referred to is when they like yourself buy a ship and play at a level far above their competency thus undermining the teams chance at winning.

If you are the one in 10 000 player who can jump into the deep end and not be "that guy" who screws the team then congrats.

It's not about the pay ship, it's about the undermining of the others who learned to play to get to whichever tier. Don't worry though because the players who just grind up one line of boat screw their teams even more getting to a tier without nearly the skill to actually compete.

Unfortunately this game is one that that relies on quality of play to succeed but unlike real life where you have to actually earn your position in a league here you can just buy spot in the starting rotation and everyone  on your team has to just suck it up.

Let's address this one shall we? Since it's a quote of me. Not only did it come from thread that had nothing to do with you, it was an answer to a specific question, which was "What ship were you in?". The phrase "although he didn't earn his way there" was an elaboration on the following "as his highest non-premium BB is a T4". As was clarified by later posts, it wasn't a comment about skill or an accusation of being a wallet warrior. It was pointing out the absence of BBs between T4 and T8 in that particular players roster. In the context of the thread my comment appeared in, it simply indicated that the player in question was either in his Tirpitz, or was playing low tiers where he had a minimum of matches.

Please don't try and quote people out of context to prove your point. Sooner or later you'll get called on it and you'll look silly.

I was wondering where i JUST saw that quote from, and was saying to myself "wth, is this guy serious?? and wth did this have to do with him"?

I am trying to not post on everything I have read so far because I tend to come off sometimes as, um.... "different" let's say.

But to go right up to a tier 7 in this way is bad.. FOr you and for your subsequent teams, especially if you want to jump in ranked,,,

And a wallet warrior IMO is someone like a noob.. a noob is new but has no intention of learning, and want everything to just happen and if it doesnt they dont really care and just create havoc and does nothing to improve, while the newb want to learn and does whatever it takes to do so.

I bought a lot of premium ships, except the Atlanta, I hear ir sucks and I see it sucks, unless hes on yer a$$ and yer in a DD....(well except the Bly, I love melting atlantas in that)

I digress.... If you called him out on it I can just sit by and watch it roll..... the OP IMO just wants everyone to know he paid money (and bought the wrong ship IMO, you should have both the Murmansk and learned the game at tier 5 first, then the Atago) and you can't call him out on bad play at high tiers because he hasn't had time to learn the game like the rest of the grinders did,.,,,

And don't go rushing into the gearing so fast, play the Benson, you might just stop there... I hear the Gearing is not all that, compared to tier 9...

And yada yada yada, for the most part do your thing, but don't expect some people to not call you out on tier jumping without getting your feet wet and getting good at the game

lol Atlanta, Atago... load AP in the Blys if you're close enough and watch the citadels rack up. May not be massive cit damage, but when you hit 4+ per salvo, it adds up fast.

Game wouldn't exist if people weren't paying WG somehow. That's all there is to it.

Having said that, I think premium ship prices are outrageous. But I don't begrudge the people who have the kind of scratch to lay down the dough on boats they want.

That a T8 ship costs about the same as Fallout 4 is a touch of perspective, yet their sales figures don't lie.
