More accurate than Yamato on paper.  214m max shell dispersion, Yamato is 275m.  However, Yamato's shells have that much dispersion at a much longer range so technically at the same distance Yamato is more accurate.  I haven't gotten to Yamato myself even in PT so I can't verify that claim.

 

Amagi is very good at punishing opponents' mistakes as shown in the video, but she is not forgiving of them either.  The giant hull means you can't dodge torpedoes on reflex even with a rudder shift time upgrade; you have to think ahead of your opponent, and the thin armor means even heavy cruisers can cit you; if you don't cit them in return with each salvo or angle you will lose a one-on-one AP duel.  Which brings me to the most important advice I can give anyone coming into Amagi: angle.  Play it like a clumsier DD; assume nothing is safe to tank.

Even more disappointing was that this was a ranked battle.  But yes, it's a North Carolina.

Did he not hit you right under the funnel? You weren't angled past 45*, but he only gets 6K damage, maybe just goes to show the guns on the NC are junk.

Wasn't him who hit me, it was a Tirpitz behind him.  The hit was directly on the smokestack, towards the base.  Smokestack hits do a decent amount of damage because IRL they could be crippling to a ship. 

 

The explosion can deprive the boilers of ventilation and snuff them out, and shrapnel falling into them can wreak havoc on the machinery.
