Does anyone else feel that they get a worse MM when they have flags mounted? Especially the XP flags.

It's probably just bad luck, but it seems that way often enough for me to ask the question.

Over a much larger sample size, can't say I've noticed anything like this so far. It's just that we tend to pay more attention to frustrations than to good runs which we take for granted.

The MM does a lot of shady things, but messing with the flags probably isn't one of them.

I took some stats once in the Minekaze and it was 20/40/40 (Top Tier/Mid Tier/Bottom Tier) but that was a sample of 20 games so only a brief sample.

I think you notice tiers more when you put the flags on as you are after a big score to maximise your XP so therefore more aware. Something like "a watched kettle never boils"

I can tell you that since the last patch, MM in general has been worse across the board. So has battleship shell deviation.

Confirmation Bias? Maybe.

But MM really has been strange - I've got a folder full of replays (22!) since the patch that have very wacky MM - such as the double tirpitz vs. double nagato matchup.

BB dispersion.....yes have noticed....not impressed..........but.......whatareyagunnado?

And as for "confirmation bias"...this is a term that gets thrown around a lot...and it irritates me just a smidge.

Just because someone speaks up that they have experienced an issue that someone has posted on does not make it biased, in any way, shape or form.

Because if it was WG could play this card everyday of the week when problems are raised.

It is something that Gaijin is very good at(even though they don't use the term directly)

Who doesn't. The MM deliberately messes with you sometimes, that's all I'm going to say before the tin foil hat exposé team arrive at the scene.

Flags though? Meh.

I'm guessing people are playing odd ships because of the event.

Yes, but according to how MM is supposed to work - balancing the teams - that sort of MM shouldn't happen. BB's at least for the last several patches, have been more or less equal.

Two tirpitz and a Kongo vs. two nagato and a new york, and a kongo, is not equal. In this case, 4 is not greater than 3. I had a game today, with 3 vs. 5 DD, and they had a Nagato, fuso, kongo, to our new mexico, new york, new york, imperator. (someone divisioned an Imperator, with a New Mexico.....why? No idea.)

I just ran my Konigsberg into the back of the map and left. Call me an [edited], but gotta protest somehow. Turns out, the game was over in 7 minutes because their dd's just capped. The Nagato had 2000 some base xp.

Dunno if it's MM or not but my W/L has dropped from 50% to 24% in the past week.  Why do I keep getting on FAIL teams which end up 3 or 4 kills vs 11 or 12 kills for the enemy?

Are you sure what confirmation bias is?

Because if only a few people complain about an 'issue', while it's simultaneously fine for everyone else, and other people are having the exact opposite happen (i.e. you complain you can't light anything on fire, other guy gets a fire every salvo), then It's reasonable to assume you're just focusing on your bad games.

Sometimes new play style from ourselves is necessary i.e. Leeroy Jenkins/ Geronimo / Banzhai, to motivate these moments
