I see that the top one or two players on the losing team still lose a star if the team loses. This is driving me insane. No matter how good I am, I always seem to get stuck with idiots more often than not. It doesn't matter if I pull "High Caliber" with 130k damage, my team will still find a way to throw the game away.

Ranked is not about player skill. It's all about how lucky you are, and frankly, I'm the exact opposite of lucky. Net gain of -1 star out of 13 battles.

As always, **** my useless life.

The beauty of team-based games is that you win or lose as a team, not an individual. Don't play ranked if you don't have a team mindset.

Exactly. It's amazing that so many people complain about losing in a team based game

I think monopoly's a better choice.

Eheh... no. Monopoly can be a more rage-inducing game than any. Monopoly destroys friendships :)

Hey at least your off to a better start than me. 1 win 4 losses, 1 win 3 losses... It happens, just sucks when you get the same team members who always YOLO on their own so you already know what their fate is before the match starts.

I can vouche for this! my friend in middle school waked me over the head with the board after she landed on parkplace and I bankrupted her!:(

Rock, Paper, Scissors?

Farming Simulator?

Not sure I've ever raged over either of those. Farming Sim is actually quite relaxing for me, much like ETS2. I play those when I need to cool off from WoWS.

Carry harder.

But seriously, damage numbers don't tell the whole story. You could rack up 60k damage on a BB no one else touches and have it mean nothing or you could do 10K and sink a DD two minutes into the game, sink it and give your team the upper hand. Sinking the same DD after he torps half your team looks just as good in the final number but doesn't really help you win.

My highest damage battle ever was 180k+ in a Tirpitz in ranked. We lost that one. I didn't do that damage early enough in the fight or focused on targets (I got into a brawl with 4 BBs and only sank the Nagato even though I citadeled and torped the other 3). My team's other BBs hung back stationary and died the second a DD attacked them. Had they been even average they could have finished off the guys I hit super hard, but they were full of fail and my actions didn't save them from DDs or knock out enough of the enemy to make up for them.

My hardest carry was a <100k game where I killed all three of their DDs (including an epic charge into a smoke cloud in a final 1 on 1 fight) and also finished off 2 BBs after they had wrecked most of my team. There's no real stat that measures your actual effectiveness at increasing your win chances.

At least your Last 2 Complaint threads were not about Torpedoes.

You are making progress!

I'm venting my frustration. I never vent in real life, so I have to do it elsewhere.

Damage isn't everything. I don't know why that's so hard to understand. What's your base XP? Are you supporting the caps? Are you presenting a target to tank fire? That's what a BB should be doing, not just amassing damage.

You've got 21,487 xp and 549,516 damage in 13 games. Those aren't really "carry the team to victory" numbers. They're "a perfectly good part of a solid team win" numbers. But that means you need the team part to come through too, and they won't always do that for you. So either pick the numbers up so you can carry more dead weight, or continue to be stuck at the mercy of whatever teamplay the 7 of you can scrounge together. =\

Guess which team won.

The team with the Amagi should win. But if the team without one went B and had some solid initial play by the DDs and cruisers, I could see them pulling it out. I've seen stranger things happen today for sure.

If I am not having good luck I dont force it, play a different game mode or something. There is no reason to subject yourself to so much frustration, you have plenty of time for this season.

Losing team still loses a star?

Losing team still loses a star. Figured I would highlight the important part. Not being harsh, rude or obtuse, but you are missing the point of a competition. Before you try to justify your reasoning, yes, indeed you are in fact missing the entire point of the basic principle of most games. You either "Win" or you "Lose". Those that win, go on. Those that lose, do not. It really is that simple. I can show you a few screen shots (I have had many games though) where I have in fact been top score of a match for both teams, but have been on the losing side, without any flags. If it were ranked, while yes, I would be disappointed at such a great game that I had played, but in no way shape or form would I be so inherently entitled to think that I deserved to move onto the next rank or even deserve a "winning star".

You know, the "reward reserved for only those that have won a ranked battle", the key for progression and the only way to obtain said key is to actually "win" a ranked battle, not just do well/extremely well/AlsoRobotsPUSHED*DOOMBUTTON*great.

While you may think WarGaming didn't learn anything by not awarding good play by auto-progressing well played matches. They are doing just fine in that department. You have no idea what it would do for ranked battles if they just auto-progressed people who played well do you? For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction is there not? So, lets say they drop the win/loss star progression. For a minute here, lets pretend you log into a ranked match, start and 30 seconds into a match are detected. You think, that's strange, let your teammates know, but keep sailing away towards you goal. Out of seemingly nowhere a salvo from 19km comes from across the map and RNG hits for 4 cits and instagibs you taking you out of the match within less than 2 minutes without ever seeing a single target. Despite your team winning the match, you have lost a star. Think this can't happen, no matter what tier? While it is improbable at 19km, 2 nights ago I did, quite literally erased an enemy Amagi from full health to 0, with one salvo in my Amagi.

I've lost games, even this season where I've had High Caliber, Confederate etc. It sucks, it really does. But, it's life, you just have to keep plugging away. Winning is never easy, just ask any profession athlete or even professional gamer who is actually paid for what they do. Nothing is every truly handed to people, despite popular belief or internet claims. Just keep working at it. The season just started and it's a long season. Plenty of time.
