Omaha XP Issue

I have been wanting an Omaha for awhile, but I don't have the XP to research it yet.  For some reason only my gold (free) XP seems to count towards the total and I am 13,000 away still (obviously this takes forever).  Is this normal or do I need to get hold of someone to fix this?  None of the other ships have this problem so far and I have actually been able to acquire XP towards other ships and research them in the same time period.

play the phoenix and you wont need to convert any free XP at all.

 

if you are playing the phoenix, have you researched all the modules on the path to the omaha? you need to research the hulls of the phoenix (i think the omaha is on that path) to research the omaha. all ships are like this, you need to research all modules in a path to then research the next ship.

Really? Like you take it out into battle, and the Xp you earn in that battle doesn't count towards it?

 

Just wait till you get on in the tiers, I need 108,000 experience and 8.8 million credits for the mogami.

I bought the Phoenix twice and it sucked so bad I sold it both times.  The firepower is completely inadequate for Tier IV.  If that's the only way to get to the Omaha I guess I'll have to do it.  The points system is still a bit confusing.

the hull and gun upgrades help. it wont take long to grind, the phoenix actually a decent ship. it has the exact same guns as the omaha, just a few less.
